Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) -
Chapter 1072
Seamus's room was still alive with the hum of machines working overtime as he quickly reached out to Ronald. "Ronald, just like we thought, ever since Brielle showed up, things between Dustin and Raymond have been going downhill fast."
At that moment, Ronald was busy selecting companions. A line of stunning women from around the globe stood before him, each one making Kailee look plain in comparison. If King had even a smidgen of interest in Kailee, he wouldn't give these women a second glance. King had kept Isaac hidden away in his mansion for years, making sure no one knew what he looked like until just over a month ago. Ronald had a hunch that King and Max were actually twins.
If they were brothers, their tastes couldn't be that different. So, Ronald had picked women who resembled Brielle, figuring King would have a type.
Right now, Brielle was with King, but given King's hatred for Max, there was no way he'd end up with her for real.
To King, Brielle was just a tool, a way to mess with Max. Once King felt he'd had his revenge, he'd toss Brielle aside like garbage.
The women Ronald was picking now were pristine, unlike Brielle, who had been "tainted" by Max. Ronald couldn't hide his smug grin; the organization's mission was almost complete. After selecting five women, he finally got back to Seamus.
"The Lynch family task is yours. You've stalled long enough. Now that you have this chance, you need to make the most of it. If you blow this, no one's going to wait for you anymore." Seamus felt a mix of annoyance and determination.
Wasn't Ronald the one who had his plans in Saudi wrecked by King? And now, he was just one of King's lackeys.
Seamus doubted Ronald truly had any hold over King, who didn't seem like the type to be anyone's puppet. But Ronald spoke with such confidence, and Seamus, having struggled with the Lynch family for years, felt his resolve waver.
"I understand. I'll get on with the next step ASAP."
After ending the call, Ronald arranged for the women to be sent to King's mansion.
Inside King's place.
Brielle finally woke up, feeling a deep hunger gnawing at her insides.
Remembering where she was, she grabbed a dress and headed to the bathroom. She filled the tub with
warm water and eased herself in et
wincing as the water touched her wounds, a sharp pain in a certain area making her face go pate.
The hunger and pain made her bath short. Wrapping herself in a towel she opened the wardrobe, expecting to see only King's clothes but was surprised to find an array of women's outfits.
When had these been put here?
Picking an outfit that fit her perfectly, Brielle realized these couldn't have been meant for her.
Were they for another woman from King's past?
It wasn't that Brielle was clueless; any woman in her position, with no memory of a past with King, especially one involving a child, would find it hard to believe. Dressed, she opened her room door and saw King standing there, holding a plate of freshly cooked steak. Seeing her discomfort seemed to darken his mood.
"Eat something."
Still reeling from the previous night, Brielle accepted the plate and went back to her room. A large table near the floor-to-ceiling windows offered a view of the outside world.
Under different circumstances, she might have enjoyed her meal, but King's presence across from her, slicing the steak into pieces and pushing the plate towards her, made her uneasy. After finishing her meal in silence, she felt a bit better and looked up at him.
"Do you have any medicine?"
Her discomfort was clear, a reminder of the previous night's ordeal.
"What kind of medicine? Birth control? Do you think you need it? Don't you know why you lost the child with Max? During those three years at Dorsey International,
Michael had you fed with so much birth control it damaged you. Your body's past needing any more."
