Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) -
Chapter 1142
extent of Max's hidden network; he only knew Max had people in the shadows.
King let out a derisive snort as he dialed a number on his phone. This wasn't a contact he had established; it was Max's doing. Back when Max was in trouble, Patrick had given Brielle a number, telling her to call it for help if needed. Even Patrick didn't fully grasp the Now, with fragments of Max's memories surfacing in his mind, King recalled those connections. This call was to reach out to them.
"Save Brielle. I've sent you the coordinates."
The response was immediate. After hanging up, Max's voice echoed in King's mind. "You're useless."
King's face flushed with anger. His main strength was in Saudi Arabia, which meant his forces there would take time to mobilize. The current families joining him were North American, and he hadn't expected to rely on them so heavily. Even the Lynch family, North America's reigning power, was struggling. It seemed unfair for Max to single him out instead of Dustin.
King glanced at Dustin, who seemed to recognize the families that had joined them, his expression darkening. But Dustin had his own concerns.
What could have driven the person behind the scenes to go berserk all of a sudden? Dustin had already called his father, Raymond, instructing him to keep Seamus in check. Seamus, that old fox, hadn't expected the organization to launch a large-scale attack out of nowhere, and nothing useful could be gleaned from him.
Above all, Dustin was worried about Sarah, who was still with the organization. No one knew her status, and if they used her as leverage, the Lynch family would be at a significant disadvantage. Now, facing a massive organization plus a dozen families, they were barely holding their ground. But if Sarah was brought into play, what then?
The situation had grown complicated. They couldn't head to Brielle's location immediately.
Just then, Max's voice resurfaced in King's mind.
"Let my people save the mother-in-law first."
King exploded internally. Whose mother-in-law?! Certainly not Max's! If anyone's, she was his! But at this critical moment, he suppressed the urge to lash out.
"Max, do you know where the core of the organization is?"
"I don't, but Jaired does."
Jaired? Wasn't he from the Beaconsfield Riddle family? King didn't doubt Max. After years of standing by each other, he knew Max wasn't one to joke at such a time. So, he called back, instructing them to rescue Sarah.
Max spoke again. "It'll take a day and a half for reinforcements from Saudi Arabia. By then, the mother-in-law will have been rescued. Let my guys go support Brielle first. You'll need to stay put. Otherwise, their firepower will follow you to Brielle's location."
Max's voice was calm, methodically analyzing the situation. King realized Max was right, With so many influential North American families involved none of which were easy to deal with-and the twisted,

families into battle, a direct
confrontation without waiting for his primary forces from Saudi Arabia could lead to mutual destruction, possibly costing both him and
Dustin their lives.
"I understand." He turned to Dustin, "Bro, I mean, Dustin, I've sent people to back up Brielle. We're being watched and can't leave just yet. we do, Brielle will face even heavier fire. We need to keep these guys busy. My mom's got people on it too. No heroics-let them chase us, and we'll get out of here."
Dustin wouldn't question this plan. Known as a demigod in their circles, and considering King's strongest forces were indeed in Saudi Arabia, it made sense not to engage in a futile battle without backup. The remaining helicopters swiftly changed course, heading in a new direction. The pursuing helicopters, more numerous, seemed determined to ensure their downfall right then and there.
