Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) -
Chapter 1162
Back in the living room, Dustin could tell something was off just by looking at him but chose to raise an eyebrow in silence rather than comment.
King sat sulking in a corner, scrolling through data flooding in from various sources on his laptop. The two who had saved Orla had already spilled the beans on the exact location of the base. Now, with over fifty families rallying behind them, plus the support of the Lynch family, Max's secret backing, and King's own influence in North America, a direct assault seemed inevitable.
The base didn't stand a chance against such an overwhelming force.
Yet, three major variables were complicating things. Brielle was in their grasp. So was Sarah. And then there was Jaired-the wildcard. Even Max had warned to tread carefully around him, indicating Jaired's potential to sway the outcome of this mission.
Why Jaired had joined that organization was anyone's guess. But King didn't dwell on it, knowing all too well that darkness lurks in every heart, sometimes leading one astray when it grows too strong. Growing up in high society, maybe Jaired had simply had too much exposure to righteousness, breeding a rebellious streak within him.
Regardless of the reason, Jaired was not to be underestimated.
The allied forces were regrouping, ready to storm the base by evening at the latest. King's restlessness was palpable, his mood darkening further as his gaze landed on the captives tied up in the center of the living room.
Prince Arthur, seizing the moment someone finally noticed him, blinked furiously, signaling he had something to say. King strode over and yanked the cloth from Arthur's mouth with a swift motion. Arthur sighed in relief. Having known Dustin for years, Arthur was well aware that the royal family's schemes were probably transparent to him. Despite feeling powerless, he still managed to speak fluently in English. "Look, there's room for negotiation here. There's no need to escalate things this far."
Dustin, engrossed in strategizing on his screen, frowned slightly at Prince Arthur's words. "Stuff it back in," he muttered. Noise. The moment the royal family opted for this path, negotiation was off the table.
"Look, I know the royal family's
actions have left you cold, but I can't stop them single-handedly. It's a
matter of the entire clan. I'm truly sorry, but at this stage, isn't it better to minimize the fallout? Our ties with the

generation. I can't change that
alone. But you and I have a personal connection, and I hope we can both emerge unscathed from this
conflict."
Arthur's plea was heartfelt, but Dustin's expression remained unyielding. King, seeing this, moved to gag Arthur once again.
"Wait! The leader of the 'Jesus'
organization, Irene, she's the
daughter of the princess who was married off to forge that alliance. If you go to war with them, even if you have us now, other members of the royal family will join their side. You know the royal families in North America aren't united. Some back me as the heir, while others support Irene. The contributions she's made to the organization over the years are significant. I'm telling you this as your friend. If there's no turning back now, you better weigh the strength of those in the royal family who support Irene before making a move."

This was a revelation neither Dustin nor King had anticipated. Prince Arthur had indeed played his last card. He made a valid point. Despite all being members of the royal. family a rift had formed, dividing theiRoyalties between Prince Arthur and Irene, the daughter of the princess sent away in marriage, now the head of the organization.
