Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) -
Chapter 1269
The cab driver's face twisted in irritation as he saw the new arrival. "What are you even talking about, lady? Do you have any idea who you're dealing with? Seriously, can't part with three hundred bucks, and now you're off to pawn some gold? I bet you don't even have
any real gold!"
Peyton stayed silent, just glancing at the woman next to her.
Brielle was at Stellar Stage Entertainment for her orientation. She'd just wrapped up a meeting and was heading back to the estate when she stumbled upon an obvious scam.
And it wasn't just any scam-it was blatant, with the cab driver trying to rip off someone who clearly looked like an outsider.
She frowned, "I suggest you clean up your act. Scamming your own people? How do you sleep at night? If someone reports you, you can kiss this job goodbye."
The man's face hardened, and, fuming, he honked furiously before driving off.
Brielle was about to get into her car when she noticed Peyton still waiting by the roadside and decided to speak up, "Ma'am, why are you heading to a pawnshop?"
Brielle's demeanor was comforting and trustworthy, devoid of Leona's arrogance, which made Peyton feel at ease.
"I was planning to pawn my gold bracelet. My daughter wants some skincare products; she's a streamer and needs to wear makeup."
Brielle glanced at Peyton's simple attire and noted how her hands were nervously tucked in her pockets, likely clutching the bracelet.
All this to buy makeup for her daughter?
Such a daughter seemed a bit thoughtless.
"Get in, I'll take you."
Peyton looked at Brielle skeptically but eventually got in, not forgetting to express her gratitude.
Brielle had driven herself here today. King had finally allowed her some independence, though he texted every ten minutes to check in on her. His clinginess was somehow reassuring.
She smiled slightly, noticing the constant "beep beep" of the car's alert and turned to Peyton.
But Peyton, unfamiliar with the car's features, thought she had done something wrong and hastily attempted to exit.
Brielle, somewhat amused, restrained her.
"Ma'am, stay put. Let me buckle your seatbelt for you."
Peyton nodded awkwardly, "Oh, thank you, dear."
Brielle took her to a mall, where they could sell the gold.
And since it was her first day on the job, she wanted to buy King a gift.
The thought of his reaction brought a smile to her face.
And then there was Isaac, not King's biological child, but a part of their family nonetheless. They were all in for a celebration.
Peyton followed Brielle cautiously. Upon seeing the dazzling array of gold in the showcase, she looked on enviously. Brielle led her to one of the gold shops, securing a decent price for the bracelet-about ten thousand dollars.
Not far from the gold shop was a makeup store.
Peyton was clueless about makeup, and Brielle, concerned she might make a hasty purchase, decided to accompany her.
"Ma'am, what brand does your daughter need? And for foundation, it's crucial to match the skin tone. Everyone's different. What does your daughter look like?"
Just then, the mall's display started showcasing Stellar Stage Entertainment's latest event, including a promo for thirty

streamers based on their popularity.
Emma appeared last.
Seeing her daughter on the screen, Peyton's breath caught.
"Oh my goodness! That's my daughter on TV! Can you help me pick the right foundation for her? We need the best one."
Since Brielle had been so helpful,
Peyton felt more comfortable asking
for assistance, her eagerness to buy Emma the skincare products overshadowing any embarrassment.
