Brielle was already awake, thinking King had come back, but when she turned, she found Isaac lying next to her instead. Her body went rigid, a wave of nervousness crashing over her. She had never shared a bed with a child before. What if she accidentally kicked off the blankets and he caught a cold? What if she rolled over him in her sleep?

Her mind raced with worries, but looking at that tiny face, so much like Max's, a surge of affection washed over her. Still, Brielle didn't dare move, as if she were paralyzed.

Luckily, Isaac was fast asleep. If he were awake, he'd be just as uneasy as Brielle, both unsure how to handle the situation. Brielle's breathing relaxed, and soon enough, she drifted off to sleep.

In another room, King was clueless that he had mixed up two glasses of warm milk and was still waiting for Isaac to return. After half an hour with no sign of him, King's brows furrowed in confusion. Could delivering a glass of milk take this long?

He stood up and went back to the master bedroom, only to find Brielle and Isaac asleep, their heads touching. His heart melted at the sight.

He stood there, not moving, his heart aching from the sheer beauty of the moment. King couldn't resist capturing this scene with his phone, thinking it would make the perfect wallpaper.

But as he lifted his phone, Brielle's eyes fluttered open, and she muttered, "The bed's not big enough, find somewhere else to sleep."

All the warmth and beauty of the moment vanished.

King stayed silent, hoping Brielle would change her mind. But Brielle, overwhelmed by sleepiness, drifted off again.

King looked at Isaac, pondering if he could possibly move him without Brielle getting upset. He stood there for an hour, watching as Brielle moved closer to Isaac, leaving ample space on her other side.

Without hesitation, King slid into the bed, pulling them close, and fell into a contented sleep.

The next morning, Isaac woke up first. Startled by the unfamiliar ceiling, he sat up quickly, his face changing colors as he saw Brielle and his dad beside him.

What was going on?

He hurriedly left the bedroom for his

own bed, his face flushed with embarrassment. Back in his room Isaac tossed and turned, feeling awkward and uneasy. He was used to sleeping with his dad and Noir, not like this.

Isaac was nervous, but that eased a bit when he saw Brielle acting as if nothing unusual had happened over breakfast. Perhaps she didn't realize he had slept there last night.

Brielle, feeling just as awkward, tried

to act calm to avoid making the atmosphere any more strained After breakfast, she presented Isaac with a gift she had bought for him-a LEGO set.

Isaac wasn't like other kids; he had never tried toys like these before. But since it was from Brielle, he was willing to give it a go.

"Thank you," he said politely.

Brielle smiled, pleased that she had managed to give gifts to both King and Isaac.

"Kiddo, I've got to head to work. You stay here with your dad, and if there's anything you can't figure out, ask him to help you," she said.

Isaac nodded, but before he could even react, he saw King eagerly following Brielle, clearly intending not to stay at the mansion but to accompany Brielle to work.

Catching King's shadow out of the

corner of her eye, Brielle smiled and

didn't object. Isaac watched them

leave, feeling not at all lonely with his new toy to keep him company.
