Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) -
Chapter 1307
King had no idea his son had been thinking about all this.
Damn it.
Why was it so hard to say "honeymoon suite"?
What's the big deal?
He cleared his throat and walked back into the living room. There was Brielle, already busy directing the staff to pack things up, looking eager and impatient. Honestly, this was the happiest he'd seen her since they got back to Beaconsfield.
Really? Just a Premier Palace and she's this thrilled?
What goes on in Brielle's mind at her age?
He couldn't help but smirk a little.
Leaving the rest to the moving company, Brielle, King, Isaac, and Noir all piled into the car, ready to head over first.
There were still a lot of people at Premier Palace, including Wesley.
For some reason, even though she'd never been there before, Brielle felt an odd sense of familiarity.
The couplets by the door, the big lanterns in the yard, even the smiling butler.
But this familiarity didn't bring comfort; it sparked panic.
She'd heard from the Dorsey family that Max's Premier Palace was cold and uninviting, more like a hotel than a home.
But this Premier Palace was different; even on the way in, she could sense the warmth inside.
Brielle's body grew colder, her steps more rigid.
Her eyes involuntarily landed on Isaac. Could Isaac's mother have lived here?
Of course, Max had a child; how could he not have had other women in his life?
Maybe he had a mistress hidden away here.
Her initial excitement vanished, replaced by memories of what the Haywood family had said before she left for abroad. "Come pick flowers; today is Lillian's birthday."
"Brielle, why are you so thoughtless? You need to give in to Lillian, understand? You're the older sister after all."
"Brielle, don't mess with that; it's a gift for Lillian. Your gift is over there."
"An exchange student? Sure, but if you're not coming back for over a year, let's give your room to Lillian. Her clothes are piling up, and don't worry, we'll restore it to how it was before you return." Brielle's mind was a whirlwind of chaos, so much so that she didn't want to move forward anymore.
But then she felt warmth spread from her hand; someone had taken it.
She turned to see King looking at her worriedly.
""Not feeling well?"
"No, just didn't sleep well."
Once inside, Brielle didn't wait for the movers to bring in the stuff but hurried towards the master bedroom.
She didn't even notice how she knew where the master bedroom was.
Lying on the bed, she blinked her sore eyes, hearing the noise of moving outside, and rubbed her temples. Taking advantage of the solitude, she opened the wardrobe.
Half of it was filled with women's clothes, and they were styles she liked too.
Brielle stiffened, a cold sweat breaking out on her palms.
King walked in, familiar with the
place through Max's memories, but
felt
g it with his own but
body
.
The windowsill, the bathroom, the bed, those scattered memories kept dancing in his mind.
He gently closed the door and made sure it was locked before walking over to scoop her up.
Brielle instinctively wrapped her
arms around his neck, and as he placed her on the windowsill, a flush of embarrassed memories made her stiffen, looking up at him in disbelief.
SV
But then came his searing kiss, leaving her breathless. She trembled slightly, her cheeks flushing with lack of oxygen. She pulled the curtain next to her, blocking out half the sunlight. King chuckled softly, pulling her closer into his embrace. "Does being here make you feel better?"
Brielle nodded, not quite understanding the flash of
memories just then, but regardless, the fact that Max wanted to
bring
her here was special.
She felt reassured and somewhat moved.
"Mhm."
King, seizing the moment she was distracted, successfully wrapped his arms around her waist.
Brielle, a bit embarrassed, pulled more of the curtain behind her.
