Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) -
Chapter 1318
The truth hit King like a freight train. As the dirtbag had said, even his mother probably hadn't known. If she had, she'd have wanted that man obliterated, not left breathing.
How low could a man go, letting his own goons violate his wife and then record it? The creeps involved were the old king's cronies, meaning some folks in today's four major families were part of that sick game and still kicking around. When King took the throne, they must've sweated bullets, fearing their dirty secret would get out and cost them their heads. Lucky for them, King was clueless, letting them skate by all these years.
The old king was using these videos as leverage, hoping King would off every guy in them. There were over thirty, all holding key positions in the four families. Wiping them out would shake the kingdom to its core, causing total chaos. That was the old king's twisted plan. He even had the nerve to demand King's wife, bragging about his taste for Australian beauties and promising to return her once he was done. "You'll agree, won't you, my son?" he sneered. In this society, women had a miserable status, and it wasn't unusual for a new king to take his predecessor's consorts. This wasn't even a secret, and the outside world never batted an eyelash.
The royal family was infamous for its tangled lineage and constant drama.
When King read the message, his grip on his phone tightened, eyes flashing with fury.
"King, you've got three days to decide," the message taunted, promising a helicopter at 7 PM to take his "beautiful wife."
King had mobilized everyone he could, including Max's shadowy crew, but the old king was slippery, hiding out and using the videos as his shield.
King rubbed his temples, rage boiling inside. If the man were within reach, he'd fill him with a thousand bullets.
Ricardo walked in, looking just as grim.
"Mr. Dorsey, did you see the message?" he asked, handing over a note from the Professor, who was clearly in cahoots with the old king.
The note demanded Ricardo deliver Brielle by helicopter at the specified time, or face his sister's remains being desecrated.
The enemy was hidden, using high-tech gadgets to stay invisible. Reaching them meant venturing into their lair.
But King wasn't about to use Brielle as a bargaining chip.
"Mr. Dorsey, we should get Annie back from Beaconsfield," Ricardo suggested. Annie, who the Professor and butler groomed to replace Brielle, looked just like her and might come in handy.

Brielle had left Annie with Murray at Beaconsfield. Murray was a top hacker, though King had no shortage of those. But Annie could still be useful.
To everyone's surprise, Annie was pregnant with Murray's child and already showing.
Gone was her previous arrogance; now she clung to Murray's shirt, one hand protectively over her belly.
If Annie weren't pregnant, King wouldn't hesitate to send her instead of Brielle. But he couldn't do that now, not with her carrying a child.
And he hadn't hidden any of this from Brielle.
When Brielle saw the couple kneeling in the study, noticing Annie's striking resemblance to herself, she froze.
Murray, spotting her, pleaded, “Ms.
Brielle, you promised that if I helped you, you'd let me be with Annie. She's pregnant now, and I can't bear the thought of her taking your place."
Annie's gaze was conflicted, and after a moment, she turned away, her voice bitter. "Don't beg her, Murray. You know she hates me. Looks like we're really going to be separated."
But it was the child she couldn't bear to part with.
