Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) -
Chapter 1347
Brielle froze, feeling a presence behind her that sent a shiver down her spine. How did he get up here? "King!"
Did he actually come across the balcony?
But the gap between the balconies was massive.
"Did you come across the balcony?"
King's face twisted into a pitiful expression.
"You were ignoring me, and the door was locked. I had no choice but to climb over."
Brielle felt a mix of irritation and a tingling fear at the back of her neck but didn't dare open the door, unsure if she had caught something.
There were no clear symptoms yet, but the memory of what she saw in that room made her stomach churn with nausea.
Was it a symptom, or just sheer disgust?
"Brielle, please open the door. I miss you so much."
He wanted to hold her, to sleep next to her.
Brielle's heart softened, but now wasn't the time for that.
If she was sick, there was no curing it.
She couldn't bear the thought of him seeing her in such a state. If symptoms appeared, she'd rather swallow a whole bottle of sleeping pills.
Tears welled up in Brielle's eyes, but she refrained from opening the balcony door.
King pleaded for a while before he was about to kick the door in frustration.
"If you kick that door, I'll never speak to you again!"
King's foot halted mid-air.
Brielle turned away, refusing to face him.
"Just go back to your room. Don't use the balcony anymore. Have them bring a ladder from upstairs for you."
The silence from the balcony was suffocating, and Brielle, feeling the weight in her heart, steeled herself.
However, five minutes later, she felt arms wrapping around her from behind, and before she knew it, she was pinned down on the couch, her lips claimed in a fervent kiss. Brielle's eyes widened in shock, and she instinctively tried to push him away.
But King held her head firmly, kissing her passionately, not caring about the consequences.
Brielle's resistance melted away quickly, and she found herself gripping his hair.
"You're unbelievable!"
She couldn't even finish her sentence.
With his hair caught in her grasp, King had no choice but to look up at her, his lips a deep red.
Seeing his handsome face, Brielle quickly let go and turned her head away.
King embraced her, "I didn't kick the door. I went to your bedroom from the balcony. Your bedroom window was open."
Tears filled Brielle's eyes, but she was speechless. They had already kissed; what else could they do?
"The professor got sick in the tunnel, and his blood got on my ankle."
King looked down, finally understanding why she had isolated herself. "King, I..."
King hugged her tightly, sighing.
"This country has advanced equipment for testing this kind of disease. There's no need to stay cooped up in your room waiting. Let's go together."
"Aren't you afraid?" Brielle's heart was racing.
King rested his head on her shoulder, "As long as I'm with you, I'm not afraid of anything."
Brielle felt as if her heart had been punched, a mix of sourness and bitterness overwhelming her.
That evening, both dressed in protective gear, they went to the testing center.
Since the country had to maintain
trade relations with others, the
testing equipment was
state-of-the-art and imported, promising results by the next day.
Returning from the center, King barely stepped through the door before pinning Brielle against the wall with a kiss.
Brielle couldn't even voice her refusal, soon finding herself swept off her feet.
"It's been unbearable these past few
days. Those shameless folks
upstairs haven't stopped for a
moment, and I've been missing you like crazy."
Brielle had no time to respond before being enveloped in a tight embrace.
It turned out, a man deprived for two days could be quite formidable, nearly wrecking the bed in the process.
