Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) -
Chapter 968
The guy in front of him didn't dare say a word, hardly even breathed, keeping his eyes glued to the floor. King was lazily toying with the tiny goldfish in the bowl, fascinated as he sprinkled some fish food into the water.
"King," the man next to him began, treading lightly, "there's just one misunderstanding between Max and Brielle. Her pregnancy is the key. If you really want to win over Ms. Brielle, start there. Arrange to get rid of her baby and make it look like Max's fault." King's fingers froze, his smirk flattening into a hard line.
The speaker, oblivious to his misstep, kept going. "That woman's been so reckless, sticking with Max all this time and even getting pregnant. She should consider herself lucky you're interested in her."
Before his words fully settled, the cold barrel of a gun pressed against his head.
"Bang."
From loading to firing, it took all of two seconds.
The dead guy probably never imagined his life would end like this. But everyone around was used to such scenes. Some stepped forward to drag the body away, others bowed their heads, mechanically mopping up the blood splattered across the floor. "Annoying," King muttered, sliding the fish food container back onto the table.
The air hung heavy with the scent of fresh blood. King licked his lips and turned to the person beside him. "Do you think he deserved it?"
"Absolutely. He didn't get you. Even Max wouldn't do something like that, and you'd be even less likely to."
Brielle's baby was never going to make it. The doctors had said so long ago. Even if Brielle wanted to be a self-sacrificing mother, it wouldn't change the outcome.
Max, worried about Brielle's feelings and health, was already thinking about using hypnosis to deal with it.
And King, who loved Brielle even more than Max, couldn't bear to hurt her in any brutish or crude way.
If he harmed Brielle in any way, he'd just push her further away.
But he was fed up with all those people buzzing around Brielle like flies.
Stellar Stage Entertainment, Aubree, Keiran, and even the mysterious Ricardo-all had a spot in her heart.
A heart only has so much space, and these people were taking up too much of it.
He wanted Brielle's heart to be empty, to hold only him.
So Max had to go. Once he was out of the picture, King would take Brielle far away from Beaconsfield. Wouldn't that be perfect?
Then her heart would be empty, her eyes and heart filled only with him.
Would Brielle mourn Max?
Impossible. She didn't love Max.
Not a chance.
King watched the goldfish, his voice.
calm. "I can't wait any longer. Do whatever it takes. I don't want Max to see another day. I need to see Brielle."
"Got it. I'll do my best. But the guy who just died was right; there's still a misunderstanding between Max and Brielle." "Then create a misunderstanding, but don't hurt her, got it?"
"Understood. But don't you want to see Ms. Brielle? She needs someone now more than ever. Women are emotional. Max won her over with tenderness. You could give that a try
Tenderness?
swr
That wasn't his thing.
But he did want to see her.
Brielle had no clue how long she'd been asleep; with a blindfold on, time was meaningless.
By evening, a new visitor showed up at the estate-Antonio.
He had left in the morning and only arrived by evening.
The estate belonged to the old guard of Dorsey International, so naturally, he had a key.
Seeing the two women on the sofa, his face twisted with rage.
He grabbed a dagger and lunged at Brielle.
Max had taken over Dorsey International, and what he treasured most was this woman. Marring her
face, searring it beyond recognition,
would be Max's worst nightmare.
