'Why is Bruce calling me?' She thought as she stared at her phone's screen.

She had no interest in receiving his calls. So she ignored it and let the phone ring.

However, Bruce did not stop, and he kept calling her. She had just gotten close to her home when she took a glance at her phone and made the decision to answer the call.

"Sophia!"

She heard his desperate voice the moment she received the call. She had no idea what had occurred, and the tone of his voice conveyed the sense of desperation that he was feeling.

"What happened?"

"Are you okay?" he asked after taking a deep breath.

She was confused as to why he thought she was unwell.

"Yes, I'm okay. Why did you ask that?"

"I heard what happened in the company," he muttered in a low voice.

She frowned when she heard him. "What happened in the company?" she asked, trying to find out what he was talking about.

"Brother wanted to fire you, and you decided to resign before he could do that."

In truth, Sophia was not surprised at all. She understood how he got that news. "Luisa told you nonsense, and you heard her."

"What? Is that not true?"

She could feel disappointment in his voice. Sophia rolled her eyes and replied,

He remained quiet for a minute after hearing her. So Sophia spoke out.

"If you called me to know about this, then I've already replied to you." "Don't cut call."

She thought she had answered all of his answers. Nevertheless, he took the conversation in a different direction and asked,

She looked at the driver and found him glancing at her through the rear mirror.

she entered her house, her mother looked stunned.

"So early today?" her mother asked her with a bright face.

"Alpha gave me a day off."

"All thanks to him. You can now sleep peacefully. Because you had been keeping yourself so busy with work, you were unable to even get a good night's sleep."

Sophia had actually been lying to her mother for the past few days, saying that she was busy with work in her locked room. That was why her mother did not go to check her room frequently, like other times.

Sophia woke up with a smiley face. She had a dream that Bryan came to meet her mother and they were having dinner together.

She yawned and sat up on the bed. At that time, she realized what had happened over the last few days.

Her smile froze at the thought. A sigh escaped her lips as she climbed out of bed.

She walked to the dressing table and looked in the mirror. As she looked under her eyes, she noticed that the dark circles had disappeared almost entirely. She felt a sense of calm as her face returned to its normal appearance, no longer looking like a zombie as it had on the last day. She touched under her eyes and remembered Bryan's touches on them.

She shook her head. "No, no. I can't think about him."

change in Alpha's schedule, which I failed to inform you of via email last night. I apologize for

the inconvenience. Therefore, I decided to give you a call directly."

"Alpha's schedule?" Sophia asked in confusion.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you. Alpha told me to handle the work on his schedule until you returned. So I had to work on it in your absence." "Oh, I see."

Sophia knew Miss Selena was one of Bryan's trusted people. That was why he let her do it for him.

Sophia expected her to inform her about any meetings at noon, but she was surprised when she heard her.

"There is a meeting scheduled for this evening. It will be held at the most expensive club in our pack. So, as the personal secretary of the CEO, you will have to attend the meeting with Alpha."
