Willow

About Three Weeks Later…

“Baby, we talked about this. You know we have to go help Ronnie with the final details before the ball. She has been complaining nonstop since we left, and then Scarlett bailed right after, leaving only Mari and her to organize the whole thing.”

“We still have three days until the ball, sweetheart. This will only delay us a few hours, and I think we deserve to celebrate a little longer. My sister will be fine once she hears that she is going to be an aunt.”

There was no more talking after that, at least nothing coherent as Jax sealed his alluring lips over my k**s-swollen ones once more in a passionate caress that left no questions concerning how he was feeling about my unexpected information.

I had not even considered pregnancy when we had completed our bond, but of course I would be the one to get pregnant on the first go around.

I was somewhere on the spectrum of freaking the f**k out and overwhelmingly joyful to be bringing another life into this world, but Jax made me forget about everything as he trailed heated k****s down the gently rounded expanse of my belly, angling right for where I needed him the most.

All semblance of thoughts flew from my mind as I lost myself in the bliss that only my mate could provide, and after not one, but two screaming climaxes, I resolved on returning the favor, even if only to give myself a chance to catch my breath.

Jax did not put up a fight as I urged him to lie back in the spot that I had recently vacated, and then I had proceeded to rock his world, at least until he had hastily shoved me onto my back and sank balls deep into my aching core in one swift motion.

He pounded into me relentlessly as my claws sliced into his shoulders at the intensity coursing through my system. Jax dropped his lips to where he had left his mark at the base of my neck as he kept up the same unyielding speed, driving me over the edge with a breathy m**n when he bit down on the sensitized tissue.

I felt my inner muscles clench around his throbbing member as he reached his own completion in tandem with mine and subsequently bathed my womb in his sweltering seed as my name fell from his lips like a prayer from a desperate man.

Yet, he persisted in pumping his h**s, drawing out the divine pleasure until he had conclusively collapsed against me in a puddle.

We both struggled to catch our breath, me with the added difficulty of an oversized male lying on top, constricting my airflow, but he had rolled off of me before his weight became suffocating, snaring an arm around my waist and hauling me onto his chest less than a minute later.

We laid like that for a long time, simply basking in the afterglow and enjoying each other’s company, but then my mate broke the peaceful silence with his next words, “Are you really okay with all of the changes love?”

I briefly considered the variations that he was referring to before answering, my eyes tracking around the familiar room as I did so.

I had been astounded when I had figured out where Jax was bringing me earlier this morning. He had suggested going for a run after we had finished eating breakfast with Theo and the other males at the pack house before we left to meet his sister.

I had known that we were tight on time, but my wolf’s enthusiasm for the idea made it impossible to deny her anything after all that we had been through, not that I could resist Jax’s puppy dog eyes either.

I had also been waiting for the right time to tell my mate about our little one, having just found out myself, but there seemed to have always been someone around or the timing was never perfect.

Then, it was like the stars had aligned when I realized what Jax was giving me. He had brought me to my family’s farm so that the happy memories from my youth could surround us while we built our own future.

While it obviously needed some work now, I had not been able to hold back my own exciting news when he had asked whether I wanted for us to live there, where I had grown up.

The words had slipped out before I could stop them, but Jax’s ensuing mad dash to find a flat surface had led us to where we were now, tangled up in the dusty sheets of my childhood bedroom.

I knew my mate did not have any misgivings about how I felt, our bond ensured that, but I also grasped that he needed for me to say the words aloud, so without delaying further, I replied, “I am more than okay with everything baby. Luna truly blessed me when she chose you as my other half.”
