Chapter 53 – Attacking the rogues.

POV

How could they treat this like it wasn't a big deal? Her own family.

I had to keep chewing on my bottom lip to keep from screaming out in frustration. I turned away from Landy, muttering that I needed air before losing my mind. He didn't stop me from leaving. But he would have if he knew where I was actually going.

As soon as I ran outside, I shifted into my wolf. Julia broke free from me, her snow-white fur glistening under the rays of the sunlight. We ran as fast as lightning; just a white cloud blurred in the vision of those we passed. We were soon engulfed in the woods. The trees that passed us were nothing more than distorted figures.

I wanted to avenge Tina's death more than anything. But I also wanted to prove that I wasn't a weak omega that Landry seems to think I am. He has it in his head that he must protect me at all costs. While I knew there were vampire spies out to get me and other strong warriors, that didn't give him a right to personally shut me out.

If I had to die avenging Tina's death, then so be it.

I wasn't going to let the rogues get away with this.

Although, it would help if I knew exactly who had done this to her.

There were a cluster of rogues near the border and a smile danced on my lips. There were a bunch of them, and they surrounded me, but I was much stronger than a common rogue.

One by one they attacked me, but I managed to dodge each attack. They realized soon that they couldn't get to me one at a time and that they'd have to work together. So, they began attacking me at the same time. lunging and biting at me. I managed to dodge most attacks, getting a couple in myself.

I bit and scratched and roared until I felt I was at my ultimate strength. They weren't giving up though; they continued to lunge at me, and I will admit, some of them were able to get me good. I felt a blow of one of their claws, digging into my flesh and I winced in pain. I roared loudly through the teeth of my wolf and attacked back, slicing through their face, and making them fall to the ground.

More rogues came out of nowhere; they must have heard the commotion.

I was beginning to get winded a lot sooner than I thought I would have. I had to work overtime to maintain my breathing as I continued to lunge and attack these rogues. I felt a warmth rising through my body.

Oh no.

Not here. Not now.

Before I could get another attack in, another wolf leaped through the clearing and began attacking the rogues. His howl echoed through the entire forest, shaking the trees, and startling the critters that occupied them. Landry!

The rogues looked frightened at first but realized they still outnumbered us and attempted to continue the attack.

But as Landry leaped in front of them, shaking the grounds with his heavyweight, it caused the rogues to shutter in fear. "Everyone run!" One of the rogues growled to the others.

"We are no match for the Alpha King!"

They ran away, just as I fell to the ground, shifting back into my human form and heat overtook my entire body.

Landry's POV

The smell of strawberry milk was potent when Landry neared Bernice's location. As soon as she left the morgue, he went to follow her, knowing she wasn't just going outside for air. It was a good thing he did follow her because while she was fighting the rogues, she went into heat.

She shifted back into her human form and rolled around the ground with such discomfort and agony. She was panting heavily, and her eyes were large with desires as she stared up at Landry. She bit down on her swollen red bottom lip, chewing on it.

All he could think at that moment was that he wanted to be the one to chew on her bottom lip. He wanted to take her into his arms and have his way with her right then and there.

But at the same time, he was so furious that she put herself in this position with the rogues. If he hadn't followed her and helped scare them away, they would have had their way with her without a doubt.

Not to mention, this wasn't an appropriate time considering Tina's body was just found dead. A part of him felt guilty for having these desires. But still, as Bernice rolled around the ground, her bare breasts were plain to see, causing his member to shift in his pants.
