Mine: His Caged Princess -
Chapter 43
“There is a place where you can work if you want. In the library, as a librarian.” Listening to this, Arabella felt that she couldn’t survive even there, but something was better than nothing. Instead of sitting in the room and doing nothing, she could prove herself useful.
“Sounds good to me.”
“Great. Come with me. I will introduce you to the head librarian under whom you will be working.” Breda said, to which Arabella agreed, and after saying goodbye to Freya, she followed Breda to see where the pack library was.
She observed how everyone greeted Breda all the way to the library. At the same time, she kept looking around to see what else was in the pack until her eyes landed on a beautiful, posh car entering the pack. She stopped walking and watched the car in awe. She couldn’t understand that foreign feeling that she was getting from watching the car.
That was when she observed Wylder standing near the parking area. It looked like he was waiting for someone who was inside the car.
She stayed there to watch everything and found a mid-aged woman coming out of the car—no, there were two. She released the breath that she didn’t know she was holding. She watched them hugging Wylder together.
‘They are of his mother’s age.’ She thought, and that was when the door of the back seat opened and a very sexy leg popped out of it first. She waited for that model to step out of the car, and she did.
‘F**k!’ She cursed mentally when she saw her sexy figure. She wore a black mini skirt, matching a green crop top and white five-inch heels. Not just that, she had bouncy red hair.
If she had been a man, she would have fallen in love at first sight with that model. Her jaw clenched and her fist tightened when she ran towards Wylder and then jumped on him. What increased her temper was that Wylder held her in his arms as if she were some pup.
The anger, pain, and jealousy stirred inside her all at once. She really wished she could sense or hear what they were talking about or smell their emotions.
She watched her kissing his cheek and saying something in his ear, and that was when his eyes landed on Arabella.
‘MINE!’ Arabella heard someone’s angry voice, which didn’t belong to her. She looked around to see who said that and found Breda, who was watching Wylder and that model, knitting her eyebrow. She wasn’t feeling good watching Wylder with that model. She wanted to go there and rip that bitch away from him.
She hated how his arms wrapped around that model’s waist, but his eyes were on her. They were both looking at each other blankly.
“Bella?” Breda shook her shoulder. “You okay? I can smell that you are in pain.”
“That’s because I’m in pain,” Arabella muttered and touched the injury on the back of her head. “I’m fine now. Let’s go.”
“I thought you were in pain watching that woman in Alpha’s arms,” Breda said, to which Arabella didn’t say anything. “Well, I can understand your feeling. You’re not the first woman who doesn’t like any other woman around him.”
“You’re overthinking.” She muttered, brushing the topic aside. “I’m not interested in your Alpha, nor will I ever be.” She added coldly, masking her expression and controlling her heartbeat. She felt like she had done this before. She felt like she knew how to lie without getting caught.
“Ah. I get it.” Breda nodded her head but turned her head only to find Zahir hugging that model. “MINE.” She hissed, and Arabella too turned around to see what exactly was happening and understood the reason behind Breda’s anger.
‘What the hell, Zahir?” She growled through the mind link.
‘I didn’t hug her back, cupcake. I promise I will ask her to tie me a rakhi on Raksha Bandhan, just like any sister ties a talisman or amulet around the wrists of any brothers.’ Zahir responded.
Breda didn’t say anything after that and grabbed Arabella’s wrist and left from there, fuming in anger.
“Why were you angry?” Arabella asked after Breda introduced her to the head librarian, Ms. Amiee Haris. She was an omega in her late sixties. Amiee started giving Arabella and Breda a tour of the library, telling them what kinds of books were in which sections and in which rows.
“I don’t like having my mate around any female,” Breda responded.
“But Alpha Miller is not your mate.”
“I know that,” Breda replied, looking at her as if he had grown up with two extra heads.
“Then why did you angrily hiss ‘MINE’ at the time when that model hugged Alpha?” Arabella asked, shocking Breda. “Are you werewolves possessive of your brothers and sisters too?” She asked next, thinking it was Breda’s voice since it was animistic, so she was assuming that was the reason it was different from her original tone.
“You mean to say that I called ‘MINE’ watching Alpha and that… that actress Tiara hugging each other?” Breda asked, to which Arabella nodded her head.
‘So, she is an actress. There was no doubt why she had a body to die for.’
‘I didn’t say anything like that,’ Lily, Breda’s wolf, said in defense. ‘But if she heard that word and we didn’t, then… maybe it was her inner voice, which she is confusing with our voice.’
‘It meant that it was her wolf’s voice. But… why did she refer to Wylder as her?’ She wondered and looked at Arabella, who was listening to Amiee Haris, taking note of the types of books on the shelf in front of her.
‘As per the theory, wolves only say four-letter words when they have desired someone for years or when the person in front of them is their mate.’ Breda concluded and mind-linked Wylder.
‘Is she fine?’ This was Wylder’s first question the moment she mind-linked him.
‘Yes, she is. I’ve got to inform you of something else, Alpha. I’m not sure, but maybe she is your second chance mate.’ With that, she narrated to him everything that had happened a moment before. ‘Say something, Alpha.’
“I have already found my second chance mate, Breda.”
‘What?’
‘Yes!! Tiara is my second chance mate.’
