"That was intense..." Nicholas chirped. Debby turned to see Nicholas, standing up to his feet from his hiding spot after they had all left. "You seem fully vested in what has happened just now. Care to tell me whats going on?" Nicholas asked, after observing the fact that she was deep in her thoughts. "Can't talk much, I am hungry." Debby replied, standing up to her feet as well and stretching her stiff body.

"Care for lunch?" Nicholas asked with a smile on his face.

"Certainly." Debby replied and they both got out of the central park and were soon inside Nicholas car.

When they arrived at one of the restaurants in Darkwood, they both settled for junks. While eating, Debby kept on thinking through every word the man that was taken away by Harry's men said and it kept on bothering her.

"What are you thinking about." Nicholas asked. Debby however didn't reply. She was vested into the issue and she was certainly going to find out if truly the man was her father or not.

"Can you track the location of that car which was used in conveying the man?" Debby asked out of the blue.

"I think I can handle that." Nicholas replied, pulling out his phone at once. He had placed a tracker on a few of the cars, while they were in their hideout. With few key strokes, he turned the phone to Debby to see the location.

"Avenue street...." She read out loud and began to rack her brain as to where she had seen this street before now. "Look, I am sorry but I have to go." Before Nicholas could make any statement, Debby had grabbed her purse and was out of sight.

Meanwhile, Broderick Alessandro sat down, tied mercilessly to a chair in a dark room like someone that was about to be executed. Of course, Harry will execute him in a matter of days. He had been transferred to an unknown place and all he could do was hope that Harry kept to his words. Some paragraphs are incomplete if you are not reading this novel on FindNovel.net. He could have allowed the gun fight to start, but it would have been really fatal to himself. He had chose the right option and he hoped that Harry would really let him at the very least, lay eyes in her daughter. Whereas, the rumors about what happened in Central Park of the city had gone viral. It was the talk on everyone's lips. Not many could ascertain the true nature of things that had happened on that day and so, while there were element of truth to some of the rumors, others were lies.

Amongst people, who got to know the fight in Central Park was Alice. When Alice heard that the man that Harry had gone to war with, was Broderick Alessandro, she was completely shocked. Never had she expected that her stepbrother, Broderick would return to Darkwood. She began to panic as she believed he was here to get his two companies back. She had hijacked the two companies he built at DarkHood from him because she believed that he would never come to DarkHood again. While the first company had gone bankrupt due to her mismanagement, the second company which was in her custody being the restaurant, was slowly going down the hills as well. This was the reason she wanted her daughter Edna to hold tight to Harry, so he could help them stabilize and make the restaurant more profitable.

Many years ago when Alice went to North Hill to greet her stepbrother, Broderick. She had been jealous of how he was blessed with six kids, whereas, she had been married for four years yet she couldn't conceive. So she stole one of Broderick's kids when she was going back to Darkhood. That child she stolen was Debby. But a year after having Debby with her, she gave birth to her own son which was Edna.

Since then, she doted on Edna and treat her with love, as for Debby, she abused her severally. Debby always remind her of the time when she was barren and she hated to remember those horrible times.

Alice had lied to Debby that her parents wants her to come and spend the holiday with her. Debby was just seven years old then but Debby kept on demanding that she wants to reunite with her parents. After a couple of years, Alice had to make Debby loose her memory so she wouldn't remember all of her past anymore.

So Alice lied to Debby that her parents were dead and that she was an orphan she adopted.

Broderick Alessandro could be here because of his two companies but what if he was also here because of his long lost daughter, Debby? Maybe he got a lead here or something...

Alice thought and became very troubled. If Broderick Alessandro finds out that she was the one who stole Debby away from him, he would destroy her.

"Edna!" She called her daughter, who was in the room and in no time, Edna responded and came down. "There is trouble looming and I need to know the nature of this trouble." Alice said to Edna, who was confused by her mom's statement.

"Since you are close to Harry, I need you to go over to his place and meet with him. You should understand how you will manipulate him into telling you about Broderick Alessandro and his purpose of coming to Darkwood." She instructed her daughter and after some minutes, bade her off the house.

When Edna arrived at the mansion, she got to know from Horace, Harry's personal assistant that Harry was in a meeting and wouldn't like to be disturbed. Edna stared at Horace for a moment and knew that being Harry's personal assistant, he should be able to know all that happened today.

"The story in central park that occurred today has gone viral in Darkwood." She initiated the conversation, but Horace made no attempt to talk back. "Why is Broderick Alessandro in Darkwood?" Edna asked in addition, but Horace made no sign of talking. Edna sighed and opened her purse, pulled out money and handed to Horace to buy him over.

"I cannot take what is not from my boss." This single statement angered Edna.

"Very well then, how about I tell your boss you made sexual advances at me? Certainly he believes me more than you and by implication, you would be fired." Horace groaned in frustration as he knew he would be doomed if Broderick finds out. "Fine! Broderick Alessandro came to Darkwood for his daughter, but the boss held him captive." Horace summed up everything in a sentence.

Once Edna got hold of the information, she smiled satisfactorily and left the mansion, not bothering to check on Harry as Horace already told her he didn't like to be disturbed.

When she got home, Alice was still seated in the living room.

"Any news?" Alice asked as she watched her daughter slump to the couch.

"Well, turns out Broderick is here for his long lost daughter." Alice straightened up on the couch the moment she heard the news. Her heart shivered in fear. She became overly worried.

If Broderick ever gets to find out about the truth, she was doomed. Alice was determined to hide this truth at all cost else, it could be the twist of events in both her life and Edna's life. "You will have to go back to the mansion and find out where he is held captive." Alice declared.

One thing was clear, she wasn't going to watch Broderick come and ruin all that she has been able to enjoy over the years. Alice was willing to go at any length to keep the truth hidden.
