Chapter 106

Giselle was about to decline, Oscar cut in. “No, thank you, Mr. Blake. Who are we to accept your help, right?”

Oscar was pushy on purpose. Mickey’s face went pale a bit, and he watched helplessly as Oscar took the luggage.

Giselle subtly gave Oscar a “Good Job!” thumb up.

Oscar returned a wink.

Although Giselle was married and Oscar got no more chance near her, that didn’t mean he’s going to sit back and tolerate the cheating cad, Mickey Blake, bugging her.

Men knew men best, Mickey looked at Oscar’s face and understood him.

He was probably not satisfied with his current girlfriend and started to Miss Giselle, trying to get her to come around.

Heh. Men.

Disdained, Oscar also decided that he would not give Mickey the chance to go near Giselle these days.

After landing and returning to the hotel Friday evening, Oscar discussed excitedly with Giselle, “Let’s dine out!”

This was also their regular itinerary for business trips, to seek out cuisine a day before and after the big show.

At least for Oscar, there wasn’t much to prepare for these kinds of small performances anyways.

Giselle agreed. However, just as they got out of the hotel, they saw Mickey sitting in the lobby, who seemed to be waiting for them.

“You guys out for dinner? I haven’t eaten as well. Let’s go together.”

Giselle asked back with a fake smile, “Mr. Blake, I thought you were here talk business. Why are you still here?”

“No rush, I got it all planned out. And I got the time to dine with you guys.”

A man with no shame… Seriously, there’s nothing you can do.

And so the trio could only eat nearby. With Mickey around, Giselle got a really bad mood, and even worse appetite.

They hurriedly finished and returned to the hotel. Soon as Giselle entered her room, Hymes called. “You ate?”

Giselle’s ears warmed up hearing his attractive voice, “Yes.”

“You back yet?”

“Yes”

Giselle threw herself on the bed and rolled over, “And you? Are you home?”

“Not yet.

Hymes‘ place sounded really quiet. Unclear where he is.

“I’ll be home later,” said Hymes lazily.

“Oh, you’re socializing…

Yep.

Chapter 106

You always drink when I’m not around… Don’t get drunk.”

Hymes smiled sullenly, “I won’t.”

“And Hymes… Giselle added.

“Yes?”

She snorted softly, “Don’t let those no–good girls get near you!”

Giselle knew too well how many girls would go near him.

Such was the fact, and Giselle was not playing preferences.

Hymes got charms that would undoubtedly garner attention.

Hymes was indulgent, “How about I check in with you all the way?”

Giselle smiled. “That won’t be necessary; I’m not worried. Besides… With all this distance. What else can I do but trust you?”

She was too far from Hymes. All she could do was to trust in him.

And they still got a long way ahead; she cannot always be that careful.

Giselle hung up after a few chat. She was about to take a bath when the bell rang.

She thought it was Oscar coming to talk with her about tomorrow’s rehearsal. But as she opened the door, the man outside. made her instinctively want to shut it.

Mickey stopped her. “Wait! I want to talk to you about Oscar.”

“What about him?”

“Can I talk inside?”

Giselle was about to say no, but Mickey explained at once. “It wasn’t safe to talk outside. Don’t worry, I’m not gonna anything to you… It was my fault we broke up but, you know me.”

In the past when they were in love, Mickey obeyed Giselle’s request against any intimate behaviors and never crossed the line.

He might think otherwise, but he was still true to his word.

Giselle opened the door and let Mickey in.

But she didn’t close the door all the way, and left it open. Then she leaned against it. “All right. What about Oscar?”

“Some of my friends‘ projects need a proper poster boy. And you are in charge of Oscar… I could make a recommendation if you’re interested.”

A chance to work together. That was not something you say no to.

Giselle accepted at once. “Of course. Thank you, Mr. Blake.”

“You’re welcome. It was nothing…” Mickey’s eyes fixed on Giselle’s face as he talked.

The gaze made Giselle quite uncomfortable, and she looked away. “Mr. Blake, if nothing else, then you can go back now. We’ll discuss our terms of cooperation tomorrow.”

“Giselle, don’t you have anything else to say? Why are you shutting me out?”

Chapter 106

“Shut you out? I believe only I can say such things! You know full well what you did, and you presume to judge me?”

“Yes…” Mickey said meekly, “It was my fault. And I’m really sorry!”

He suddenly stood up and approached Giselle. “Will you give me a second chance? Just one chance, and I’ll promise I’ll be good to you. I’ll never let you go…”

“Drop it,” Giselle said coldly. “You know me. It’s over the moment you cheated on me. End of story.”

Mickey was a little disappointed, and smiled wryly. “Seems I blew it.”

“Exactly. You can go back now if nothing else.”

Mickey was hesitant to leave. “Can I use your bathroom? Looks like something was wrong with my toilet. I need to get someone to fix it.”

“Get it over with,” said Giselle.

She didn’t want to remain in the same room with him, and left to wait outside in the corridor.

Mickey was only procrastinating and wasn’t actually gonna use the bathroom. Seeing Giselle out, his face became stern and gloomy.

Then he saw the big bed in the room.

Giselle placed her purse and some accessories on the nightstand and her cell phone on the pillow.

Mickey smiled curtly and quickly took out his own phone to take a few pictures, then he took Giselle’s phone to the bathroom.

He turned on the shower and unlocked the phone under the sound of water.

After all those times dating Giselle, Mickey was well aware of the password she would use, and unlocked it after a few

attempts.

Then he dialed the phone number marked Hymes.
