"Let me help you look."

Seeing that Irene was taking a long time to choose something, Dustin went to help her.

Irene watched as Dustin looked around. On the surface, she seemed unaffected, but anxiety twisted her insides into a knot.

She was terrified that Dustin would choose something very expensive, and they would not be able to afford it.

Elisa and Jaxon watched from the side. They were just waiting for Dustin and Irene to embarrass themselves.

Luckily, Dustin was considerate and did not linger on the clothing that was overly expensive.

Dustin took a long time to find something he liked.

He did not feel like buying something along this price range.

"What are you two doing? You won't be able to find anything cheap even if you look through the entire boutique. There's no need to force it if you can't afford to shop here. What's the point of going into debt just for your pride?" Elisa said with a smirk. "Enough. There's no need to keep faking it on my account. It's not like I don't know how things are for you.

"If you can't afford anything, then don't buy anything. This boutique has a great reputation. The staff won't say anything even if you walk out without buying anything. Don't you feel ashamed wasting their time like this?"

Dustin frowned. Irene's face darkened. Anger surged within her.

Elisa's open and public mocking attracted the gazes of some other shoppers. Some of them looked at them scornfully.

However, this kind of incident was quite common. After all, the boutique was a symbol of high status among the upper circles. Many of the common folk walked into the store to take pictures and show off on social media without buying anything. They looked down on those people who tried to pretend they were rich.

"Don't buy anything if you can't afford it." That was the sentiment reflected in the faces of the onlookers.

"Who says we're not buying anything?" Dustin said flatly.

"Miss, we'll take this one," said Dustin and grabbed a random dress. He did not even let Irene try it on.

"Alright. This way for payment, please," the store assistant said with a smile.

Elisa watched as Dustin led Irene over to the reception to pay.

"This dress is 699,900 dollars. Will you be paying by card or cash?" The store assistant smiled after scanning the price tag.

Irene felt a pang in her heart.

All the clothes she had worn from birth until now combined did not even come close to the price of this dress.

Dustin took out a card indifferently and handed it to the store assistant.

He keyed in the PIN. There was a beep, and the transaction went through.

"Hmph! You really bought it!" Elisa looked displeased as Dustin paid for the dress.

Yet, when Elisa thought of how Dustin had spent so much money on a dress for Irene just to prove her wrong, it made her feel satisfied.

"The dress only costs a few hundred thousand dollars. Do you need to act so haughty?" Elisa laughed at Dustin's indifferent attitude. "What's the point of pretending to be rich? If you don't have the resources, don't pretend.

"Alright. You enjoy looking at the clothes here. I'm going upstairs." Elisa looked very arrogant. "The clothes on the first floor aren't a match for the ones on the second floor. They're not even on the same level. Only VIP members can go upstairs. Most people can't really go there.

"Jaxon has a Gold Membership. There are very few people in Lannopolis who have that honor. It's a shame that a member can only bring one person with them. If not, I would have liked to bring you both with me to broaden your horizons."

Irene felt even more pressed at Elisa's mocking face.

"But it wouldn't do anything to take you upstairs. You can't afford anything up there anyway. Well, then, bye bye..."
