"Did you say Shawna's pig farmer boyfriend is the secret boss of your company? How could that be?"

Stephanie really thought that she was mistaken. She could not believe that this was true.

Dustin had been mocked the second he walked into the ballroom. How could he be the boss of a huge company?

Was Shawna's boyfriend not just a useless pig farmer? How had he suddenly become the boss of a huge company?

What in the world was going on? Stephanie could not figure it out.

She had wanted to shame Shawna and Dustin and calling Desmond over was supposed to insult them and highlight how awesome Stephanie was in comparison to Dustin. What was going on?

Stephanie was going nuts.

Even so, she had an idea of what it meant to be Desmond's boss. Dustin was worlds more superior than they were, and they did not have what it took to mock him. "Stephanie, did you say something mean to him?" Desmond's face darkened. He was terrified that she had offended Dustin.

"She didn't say anything. She was just mocking me for being poor," Dustin said indifferently.

Desmond's face turned darker.

How dare Stephanie insult the leader of Star Tower?

Dustin was the kind of person that even the most powerful people treated with respect.

When he thought of that, Desmond's expression turned vicious. He suddenly slapped Stephanie across the face.

The smack was so loud that it would have shocked everyone present if not for how noisy it was inside the ballroom. Stephanie touched her cheek and held back her tears. She stared at Desmond in disbelief.

"Desmond, why did you hit Stephanie?" someone asked. They were unable to ignore it.

Stephanie felt that it was unfair.

How could Desmond hit her because of someone else?

"You condescending b*tch! How dare you offend my boss? You really don't know what's good for you!" Desmond yelled.

"I... I..." Stephanie felt aggrieved. She had no clue that Dustin had such a powerful background.

"Boss, I'm very sorry. She had no idea who she was talking to and offended you. I apologize sincerely," sad Desmond with his head lowered.

"Forget about it." Dustin waved it off.

Shawna did not say anything. Even so, she was happy that Stephanie got what she deserved.

The rage within her eased.

"You b*tch! Why aren't you apologizing to him?" Desmond shouted at Stephanie fiercely.

"I'm... I'm sorry. I didn't know you were Desmond's boss..." Stephanie said while sobbing softly.

She regretted everything.

Stephanie had wanted to find satisfaction by insulting Shawna and by mocking Dustin. She never expected that things would turn out this way.

"Shawna, I'm sorry. I was wrong to

say all that. Could you please put in a good word with Dustin and ask him to forgive me?" she said to Shawna.

Stephanie did not have the guts to offend an important person like Dustin. She was a nobody in comparison to him. It would be too easy for Dustin to seek revenge against her.

"It's alright. You may leave," Dustin said levelly.

"Thank you, Boss. We're leaving now." Desmond nodded and bowed.

Then, he pulled Stephanie away. He did not care about the stupid reunion anymore.
