My Arrogant Mate
Chapter 20

Half an hour and two painkillers later, I limped back to the waiting room with my crutch, but to my surprise Silvan wasn't there. Finally I was granted a bit of luck.

The idea of swimming across the lake with my ankle and crutch bandaged crossed my mind, but when I laboriously opened the door and stepped out into the sun, the idea was immediately scolded again.

He stood in front of me leaning against his car, chatting amusedly with the blonde in the waiting room and didn't even look over at me when I almost fell into the bushes while running, even with my crutch. With the last of my strength I kept on my feet and hobbled over to them. I felt so shabby doing it, but suppressed all my feelings and just wanted to get away from here and be alone.

"There you are at last," he said, raising an amused eyebrow while I stood in front of them, panting and sweating from the effort.

The blonde just looked me down and then beamed back at Silvan while tossing her long hair over her shoulder. She must have thought she would look graceful doing it, but in her blue dress she looked more like Smurfette ordered from Wish. bitches...

Standing was getting tiring, but if he thought I would ask him to drive me to his place, he was wrong. I had way too much pride in me for that.

"I'll see you then," I hissed through clenched teeth, knowing exactly what he was trying to achieve with the woman next to him.

Inwardly I laughed at the thought that he wanted to make me jealous and no matter if my hand was a little sore and trembling when walking from the crutches, I walked past them with my head held high in the direction where I assumed his house to be. "Wouldn't you like me to drive you instead?" he then asked and I wanted to hit him in the head with the f*****g crutch, or better yet her, because when I turned around briefly I saw her almost drooling for him in his black messing around with messy hair. "I'd rather run!" I exclaimed, angry at the sight, and then turned back to the road, limping like Quasimodo to continue my walk of embarrassment.

Hopefully a truck would come and put my suffering away...

My foot was throbbing despite the painkillers and that stupid crutch didn't really help me walk, but that didn't stop me from doing what I was supposed to do.

"I'll drive her home, then we can go get something to eat," I heard his voice behind me and before I could make the next hop, he had easily picked me up in his arms and carried me to the back door of his car.

He nodded to the blonde who then took a seat in front and while I didn't want to be jealous, I hoped she would sit in one of the broken glass.

Arrogant goat!

He pushed me roughly into the back seat and then he threw my crutch after me and then slammed the door.

"So," he then said as he got in the front and immediately she smiled at him lovingly. How cheap!

The engine started, the car started to move and I just prayed to be able to get out again quickly, but to my bad luck, the two of them actually started talking, which only made the time go by even more slowly. "As soon as I've handed in the nursing case, we'll drive off right away, okay?" he turned to her and she just laughed stupidly and then nodded to herself.

"The nursing case thinks that you could drive a little faster!"

Preferably directly against a tree!

He was staring at me in the rearview mirror and I hated it, but I had to admit that it really freaked me out to imagine the two of them going out to eat somewhere alone. That damn wolfness!!!

Didn't my inner wolf see what an arrogant jerk he was? Even a blind man with a cane would see that.

When my eyes fell on my crutch, I had to laugh at my own joke, whereupon the two only looked at me questioningly.

"Isn't she quite right?" the blonde whispered to Silvan and my laughter stopped immediately.

"What did you say?" I asked her angrily, leaning forward a bit to see her side profile.

"You understood me!" She grinned backwards and when I wanted to pull at her ugly hair, Silvan braked so suddenly that I slammed my face full into his seat.

My head was pounding and I immediately grabbed my forehead to fall back with my eyes closed.

I didn't realize at all that we were already there, nor that he had already got out. It wasn't until he opened my door that I opened my eyes again and looked at the familiar house behind him.

"Can you do this on your own?" he asked coldly and without answering him, I grabbed my crutch and then hurriedly got out to hobble ahead of him to the front door.

"That was on purpose, wasn't it?" I glared at him as he unlocked the front door, but he just shook his head innocently.

"No, it was a mistake," he grinned, running a hand through his hair and then pushing the door open slightly.

Before entering the house pissed off, I sneakily slipped my crutch between his feet and then lifted it up with all my strength, causing him to groan and immediately fall over.

"Oh, I made a mistake," I said annoyed, stepping into the house and then slamming the door behind me.

What a shitty day!
