My Arrogant Mate
Chapter 45

With new knowledge about myself, I left the bistro together with Igor and together we went to buy some decorative items in a small shop. Fairy lights, candles and some beautiful porcelain figurines found a place in a bag, with which we then made our way home.

I didn't tell him that I also had a gift and I didn't intend to tell anyone but Silvan at all.

The sky was slowly getting darker, but because of the snow, everything still seemed to have a certain brightness.

"What did you actually want from Kaidan?" Igor asked just before we arrived at the house, but I just shrugged my shoulders.

"Nothing special. I just wanted to know more about his gift," I then lied without looking at him, preferring to stare up at the sky, lost in thought.

"But we should really start thinking about what we're going to do with the knowledge about Nathan!", he said excitedly, whereupon I immediately looked at him questioningly. Who was Nathan again?

"Silla's father, Jade," explained Igor, who could probably read my mind.

"Yes, but not today. We have to find out more first. I don't think we would get very far with this now. His testimony would stand against ours and what do we have to offer? You overheard a conversation that you weren't knew what it was all about and I got my information from a wolf who killed many of you superiors. Who would you believe..."

He nodded thoughtfully and seemed withdrawn the rest of the way. Like me, he probably had a thousand questions running through his head and even though we knew so much, we couldn't do anything with that knowledge. It was just hair pulling!

Arriving at the house, Igor was about to hand me the bag with the things when I looked at him imploringly.

"Please come in. At least for a moment. I have absolutely no desire to face Viola alone."

He glanced at the door and then back at me, then nodded in agreement.

"But not for long."

We entered the house and my first glance fell on the dark couch on which Viola was sitting and seemed to be reading a book.

There was no sign of Silvan, but I took in his smell and then heard the water in the shower from above.

"So, got everything?" Viola said and then got up in a hurry to walk over to us. It didn't escape me that she was wearing my teddy bear pajamas.

"Yes and apparently you too," I replied, letting my eyes wander over her.

"He looks great on me, doesn't he?" she grinned provocatively, tossing her black locks over her shoulder.

That bitch! Old Jade would have strangled that stupid cow with one of the fairy lights, but I closed my eyes for a moment, took a deep breath, and then turned to Igor, just ignoring Viola.

"Will you help me attach the fairy lights to the banister?"

"Of course," he replied, and after taking off our shoes and jackets, we walked past her to the stairs without paying any further attention to Viola.

If Kaidan was right about my gift, then I was more aware than ever that she was a bad person, or at least up to something nasty.

"Why are you even doing this?", I heard her annoying voice again from behind more, but I continued to ignore her and helped Igor to put the chains on nicely. "Isn't Martha responsible for such things? Where is she anyway?"

I rolled my eyes and then noticed Silvan's presence and when I let my gaze wander up to the stairs, I looked deep into the dark eyes of my dream man.

"She comes less. Jade manages the household well on her own," he explained and then came down the stairs with his gray wool sweater and black jeans. First Igor gave a nice slap on the shoulder, then smiled and stood behind me and hugged me.

"I missed you," he breathed close to my ear, sending goosebumps up the back of my neck as he rested his hands on my waist.

"I wasn't gone that long," I replied, embarrassed, and then turned around to look into his eyes.

"Time is relative," he whispered, then gently placed his lips on mine, causing me to immediately wrap my arms around his neck and close my eyes.

Despite the two spectators, the kiss became quite intense and I would have preferred not to stop at all, but Viola had to add her two cents as always.

"Since Martha isn't there anymore, you'll have to make me my dinner," she snapped, annoyed, and I immediately broke away from Silvan's lips to look at her angrily. "I'm not your employee! You know where the fridge is, so go for it!"

"Me?!" she yelled angrily, clutching her heart.

How theatrical she was... It sucked!!!

"Yes you," was my last announcement to her, so I thanked Igor again. "Thanks for the shopping trip."

"With pleasure."

I said goodbye to the bald guy, then took Silvan's hand and glanced at Viola again.

"I wish you a pleasant night," I smiled sweetly at her and then disappeared up to our room with Silvan, who fortunately hadn't interfered.

Well, cat wars just weren't for an alpha.

"Could you do me a favor?" he asked me when he got into the room and closed the door quietly behind him.

"Sure," I replied and sat down on the edge of the waterbed to give him a friendly look.

He ran his fingers through his black hair, coming toward me and then crouched down in front of me to take my hand in his.

"Please be a little nicer to her, okay? I mean, I know how tough she is, but she's really not feeling well. She just doesn't like to show it."

If he knew...

Nervous from his intense gaze, I bit my bottom lip and then rolled my eyes in surrender.

"But only for you and if she starts provoking me then I can't guarantee anything."

His grin was just hot, and when he kissed my hand tenderly, looking into my eyes, I thought about getting rid of Viola by having passionate, loud s*x all night.

It was worth a try.

Full of lust and desire I grabbed his arms and pulled him up so that he dropped between my legs.

"My dirty mate," he breathed and we sank into a breathtaking kiss, which hopefully didn't just shake me.

****

"Jade," he breathed between our lust-filled kisses, but I didn't let him speak because with his strong body over mine and him between my legs, talking was the last thing on my mind right now.

I put my hands on his cheeks, played with my tongue on his and pressed my pelvis against him rhythmically again and again, so I could feel his hard excitement in my middle.

"Jaaade," he breathed again, but this time louder and straighter, when I wanted to put my lips even more tightly on his, he suddenly took my hands and held them tightly together over my head, so I had no chance to somehow close myself fight back It made me even hornier!!!

"We have to talk," he then said and let his dark irises scurry over my trembling body. "Damned!"

I grinned at him, knowing full well what effect I was having on him, stretched out and defenseless. Add to that my rapid breathing and my racing heartbeat, but he actually let go of me and got up to then adjust his clothes.

"You really want to talk?" I asked, smiling, then stood up to nestle against his strong back. The gray wool sweater felt incredibly soft under my hands, but I wanted to touch his skin, give him goosebumps, but again he released my hands and turned to me with a raised eyebrow, which made him easy here in the moderate light just made it look incredibly good. Only the small bedside lamp illuminated his striking face, which suddenly seemed so serious to me.

"What's the matter?" I asked worried about his expression and the passion had completely left the room due to this change in mood, but that wasn't too bad. I was now more anxious to listen to him.

"You wanted to tell me about the hunters," he said and immediately all the problems and secrets that I had hoped to be able to suppress with him at my side, at least for a short time, entered my head. "Then you'd better sit down," I whispered evasively and waited until he sat down on the edge of the bed and gave me an attentive look.

Where should I start...?

"So," I cleared my throat and then nervously paced up and down in front of him until he suddenly grabbed my hand and placed me sideways on his lap.

"You can trust me no matter what it is. You know that."

"Of course," I answered immediately, putting my hand on his cheek to give him an appreciative look.

"Then there's no need for you to be nervous, little one."

He stroked a strand of my brown hair behind my ear, looked at me expectantly and then smiled so lovingly that the nervousness really almost completely disappeared in me.

"Okay then," I started again from the beginning and kept looking into his dark eyes. "I had a feeling there was something waiting for me at the hunters, so I decided to just go there. I fu-"

"Why didn't you wake me up and take me with you?" he interrupted me, which made me glare at him defiantly.

"May I finish the story?"

"Yes, sorry."

I took a deep breath and finally continued.

"I didn't feel any fear. It was like the time I met you in the woods. Of course I knew it was dangerous being alone in the woods as a lower, but I also knew it wouldn't end badly for me. It was the same it with the hunters. Something in me drove me there and then I saw with my own eyes who had made these hunters destroy you superiors. It was my father, Silvan."

His eyes froze and he frowned in complete disbelief before carefully pushing me off his lap. Now it was him pacing nervously while I tried to stay calm.

"Does that mean the hunters aren't here because of Igor?" he then turned to me questioningly, whereupon I just shrugged my shoulders unknowingly.

"Maybe they used to be, but they're definitely under his command now. But I've sorted everything out. He'll withdraw and there won't be any more attacks," I then tried to reassure him, but he seemed to be with himself and occupied his thoughts and paid no further attention to me.

"Why?" he asked quietly after a while, while our eyes met again.

"What?"

"Why is your father attacking us?" he wanted to know and at that moment I lost my composure for a moment, because I couldn't tell him the real reason, even though he deserved to know it.

But it was to protect his conscience and his life.

"I don't know," I said in embarrassment and immediately avoided his gaze. The feeling of lying to his face was worse than I expected, especially after appreciating him so much... and loving him too....

"He's probably just jealous of you guys," I added sheepishly to make it look more believable, which made him nod slightly.

After taking several deep breaths in and out, he sat down next to me and carefully took my hand in his and used the other to gently stroke my back.

"I'm really terribly sorry about everything you've had to go through in your life," he breathed softly and then kissed my hand, which made me feel even worse. I certainly wouldn't be able to hide the truth from him for much longer, so I tried to suppress everything again and looked at him gratefully.

"But there is one very good thing I can tell you about."

I smiled and just wanted to change the subject real quick. His apologizing for everything that had happened to me made my stomach ache, because after all he was the one who had lost his sister, whom he didn't even know was actually only his half-sister. "And what?"

"I have a gift," I whispered, then wagged my eyebrows with a grin, making him eye me with irritation.

"Raising an eyebrow isn't a gift, but don't tell anyone," he also whispered, laying his finger on his sealed lips as if to instill silence in me. "Silvan," I laughed, shaking my head. "I meant a real gift."

Instead of listening to me, he suddenly stood up and looked me up and down as I was still sitting on the edge of the bed staring at him too.

"I also have a gift," he gave me a dirty grin and before I knew it, he was bending over me and taking off my sweater.

“F*****g well isn't a gift, but don't tell anyone," I breathed, almost groaning, letting my head fall back to surrender to his tingling caresses on my neck.

"But chasing you from one climax to another does."

Oh yes, telling him about my real ability could wait until the next day.

I just had to prioritize!
