“Worried you can’t finish it? Don’t worry, I’ll help with the leftovers.

Karina glared at him.

“What are you, a human garbage disposal?”

I only deal with your leftovers,” he replied with a wink.

Karina was at a loss for words, too exasperated to argue further.

Haleigh, sitting across from them, watched in amusement.

It had been ages since her home felt this cheerful, reminiscent of her nephew’s presence.

I need to use the toilet.
