She also knew, based on how upset these two ladies were, that they couldn't have been sent here by Tremaine.

After Yesseca sincerely apologized to them, the two women calmed down.

However, their anger had only cooled down just a little bit. They had every intention of annoying Yesseca and Preslie. They not only chose not to buy anything from their store, but they sat down, ate their own snacks and purposefully littered in their store. Preslie couldn't stand their behavior and went to have a word with them, but Yesseca quickly stopped her.

Yesseca shook her head and whispered, "Forget it. It's our fault for offending them and for making them feel discriminated against. Just let them vent their anger."

Since Yesseca had already said as much, there wasn't anything Preslie could do. They just had to tolerate those two angry women.

Five minutes later, the two women chatted about news from Agaphen City to Nashaland.

The short haired woman raised her hand and said, "Oh, the president of Nashaland is getting married. He's going to marry the youngest daughter of the Cowell family." "No way, I haven't heard of this."

Yesseca and Preslie were both shocked.

The president they were talking to had to be Tremaine.

To the youngest daughter of the Cowell family?

Yesseca?

But...

Preslie was confused.

When did Yesseca even agree to marry Tremaine?

There was no such thing.

This didn't make sense!

Preslie looked over at Yesseca and noticed that she looked just as surprised as she was.

Those two women continued chatting.

"I heard that the woman the president is marrying is the daughter of an important official who serves in the military. These two families marrying into each other is going to make them very powerful. I wonder, is their marriage more for the president's benefit or for the Cowell family's benefit?"

"It's a political marriage! It only works if both parties stand to gain something from it."

"Yes, you are right. But all of Nashaland is making a very big deal about this."

"Well what's the big deal? Isn't this to be expected?"

"You haven't gone back to Nashaland in a while, that's why you didn't hear. A while ago, there was a huge fuss about the president wanting to marry a common woman."

"A common woman? I've never heard about her."

"I've only heard about this recently. The president fell in love with a commoner and insisted on marrying her. The whole country was opposed to it, but the president managed to change their minds."

"All the people in Nashaland were moved by how much the president loved that woman and allowed their wedding to take place. But now the president is marrying the daughter of a rich and powerful family." "That's expected! As the president, there was no way he would ever marry a commoner. Marrying the daughter of a high-ranking official is the right thing to do!"

The two women continued chatting, but Yesseca's face had turned pale.

Tremaine was getting married.

He was going to marry the daughter of a powerful man.

They were going to get married...

The thought hovered in Yesseca's mind, slowly pulling apart her sense of self-control.

Preslie was also shocked.

When she first heard the ladies mention the youngest daughter of the Cowell family, she assumed they meant Yesseca. But now she knew that it wasn't her, but the daughter of a high-ranking official! Tremaine was going to marry the daughter of a very powerful man!

"But didn't he come by numerous times to try and talk to Yesseca? Why has he suddenly forgotten about Yesseca and choose to marry another woman?"

Preslie just couldn't figure it out. She was shocked when she noticed how pale Yesseca had become.

Preslie couldn't care less right now.

She quickly grabbed two bags of bread, stuffed them into the two

ladies hands and pushed them out, "Sorry, these are for you. We're

terribly sorry for rushing you but we have to close the store now Goodbye."

The two women, happy that they each got some bread for free, left with wide smiles on their faces.

Preslie quickly walked over to Yesseca, "Yesseca, are you okay?"

Yesseca's eyes wavered. She then snapped out of it, looked at Preslie and said, "I'm fine."

Preslie then said, "Look, whether Tremaine gets married or not is none of our business. So there's nothing to be bothered about."

"I know." Yesseca took a deep breath and said, "It's none of my concern. I'm not bothered by it."

The store closed earlier than usual today.

Because Yesseca wasn't doing so well, mentally.

Seeing how worried Yesseca was, Preslie wanted to try and cheer her up, but decided not to as she might say something she shouldn't have.

She thought of calling Sheldon to tell him how Yesseca was feeling right now. But then quickly changed her mind.

Why did she want to call Sheldon?

"Just call Sheldon! Tell him how Yesseca is right now! He'll tell Tremaine!"

There was no need to do that!

Yesseca wouldn't want her to do that!

Besides, Tremaine was going to marry another woman. Calling him would be pointless.

All Preslie could do was hold back her feelings for now.

She was going to wait until tomorrow to see how Yesseca was feeling.

After all, Yesseca had very carefully decided about her feelings with Tremaine before she gave up on him and completely cut ties with him.

If Yesseca really felt that way, then she shouldn't be bothered with him marrying another woman.

Soon, it was the next day.

As soon as Preslie got up, she smelled a very nice fragrance.

When she stepped out of the bedroom, she saw Yesseca serving up some breakfast at the dining table.

Preslie was speechless.

She had expected to see Yesseca's pale face this morning. She was pleasantly surprised to see Yesseca up and in the mood for breakfast. Yesseca noticed Preslie.

She smiled and said, "Preslie, come and have some breakfast. I made it myself."

Preslie looked at her quietly.

Yesseca's pale face from yesterday was a huge contrast to how she looked right now. Preslie wasn't sure how to react for a while.

Noticing that Preslie was simply standing there in a daze, Yesseca walked over to take a closer look.

She said, "Why are you in a daze? Come and have some breakfast. Well head over to the bakery afterwards. We've got a lot of things to do."

Yesseca pulled Preslie over to the dining table.

Yesseca's was probably forcing herself to smile right now. This made Preslie feel a little uncomfortable.

After she sat down, Preslie carefully observed Yesseca and asked, "Yesseca, are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine. I'm all good."

"It's good to know you are doing okay." Preslie continued, "I was worried you might be upset after we overheard what those two women were talking about yesterday."

The smile on Yesseca's face froze

for a split second before she went back to looking like nothing had happened. "It's no big deal. Besides, this is a good thing. Tremaine getting married means that he will

finally leave me in peace."

Then Yesseca took a deep breath and said, "Now, there won't be anyone coming to disturb me, so I can finally focus on my work!"

Having said that, Yesseca picked up

a cup and said, "Let's have a toast!

Here's to expanding our business into an incredibly successful one and to becoming female presidents of our company!"

Preslie raised her cup as well.
