Before Rorita could answer, Madam Quartley waved her hand dismissively, "Forget it, don't mention that incident anymore. True, I did loathe her then, but now I sympathized with her. For at the end of it all, she became such a pitiful person. She paused for a moment before she mumbled to herself, "She wanted neither money nor villas. It shows that she must have a good place to go back to. In that case, let her go since her life from here onwards wouldn't be too hard on her." Rorita also had the same thoughts.

As Ruth mentioned that she was going to her relatives, that must mean she had a place to live.

Then all she could do was wish Ruth a happy life henceforth from the bottom of her heart.

Amidst the vast darkness of the night, Ruth's sole, lonely figure appeared.

The so-called relatives were all made up by her.

What relatives? She didn't have any to go to!

The reason she said that was because she was afraid that Madam Quartley and Rorita would force her to stay in the villa.

That place, however, was full of memories she had with her son. Now that her son had been taken away, she could not stay there any longer.

She feared that she wouldn't be able to stand it otherwise should every moment be stirred up at all the reminders!

However, even after she left, could she not bear it?

Ruth had thought she wouldn't.

After all, she had already known that this day would come and had made preparations for it.

She also knew that with Rorita around, her son's life would be set.

Then why did her heart still feel so out of sorts?

It was as if something inside her had gone crazy and was tearing up her heart piece by tiny piece.

It hurts.

Such deep pain, down to her marrows.

It became so agonizing that she couldn't walk any further. She bent down at the waist and gasped out heavily for breath. The night grew darker and darker.

When she saw that there were fewer and fewer people on the road, Ruth managed to drag herself to a cheap motel.

She had yet to figure out where she should go from here onwards.

Once she checked-in at the motel, Ruth finally laid her body down to rest.

The pain that still tore crazily inside her, however, did not disappear.

The next day soon arrived.

Ruth had only planned to stay there for the night, but she was in too much pain.

It reached a point where she couldn't even get up.

This was how Ruth had spent three days and three nights at the motel, in bed and unable to eat or drink.

Her face grew extremely pale with not a hint of blood to be seen.

Due to the pain and the lack of food, there wasn't the slightest strength in her body. Even she felt that raising her hand was a difficult feat for her.

At the same time, in Agaphen City.

Yesseca's small bakery, no, it couldn't be called a small bakery store anymore...

It should be a big store.

The amount of money she collected every day from her sales had exceeded the sum of many other

bakeries, and it was no longer the same as it used to be.

Noon soon approached when Yesseca's bakery welcomed a girl who applied for a job there.

This girl was young and quite shy when she spoke.

The first call didn't get through.

The second call got the same result.

This made Yesseca even more uneasy.

She began to call Ruth continuously on the phone. Finally, around the tenth call, the line connected.

Ruth's voice instantly sent chills down Yesseca's spine.
