Tremaine felt bad for reacting the way he did.

He explained, "She's the woman I'll never forget. But I am well aware that you are my wife now."

This was his promise to Rorita.

He loved Yesseca deeply, but he was also married to Rorita. Even though she was only a puppet wife to him, he wasn't going to disrespect her or their marriage. That was his solemn vow.

Rorita was shocked at this. When she looked up she happened to meet Tremaine's eyes.

His eyes were a deep pitch black, like a whirlpool in the darkest depths of the ocean. She felt like she was going to get sucked into them the more she stared into them. "Mr. Tremaine, I'm actually quite jealous of you. At least you've been in love with someone who actually loved you back."

Unlike her.

Although she was his legal wife, he didn't love her at all.

How she wished that he would though.

Even if it were only for a day, she would be content.

But she knew that it was impossible.

Yesseca would forever remain in Tremaine's heart.

He only had room for one person, and only one person. No one else.

Tremaine chuckled bitterly.

He shook his head and said, "No, in fact I wish I had never fallen in her love at all."

If he never fell in love with Yesseca, he wouldn't suffer so much pain all day and night.

He would have to live with the pain for the rest of his life. He could never escape from it.

Tremaine stood up. "I'll be heading to the office now."

He realized that he had been quite talkative this morning.

That morning, Rorita read Zorion's child some children's story books.

Although the child was still much too young to understand, she had time to spare, so she decided to read out loud to him while holding him. The child listened obediently.

While Rorita read the story out loud, the child snuggled in her arms while staring at the pictures in the book.

Rorita was reading him a story about a princess and a prince.

The story was about a prince who fell in love with a princess in a castle.

But one day, the princess fell sick.

The princess, not wanting to cause the prince to fall into sadness due to her illness, decided to leave the castle and hide the truth from him.

By the time the prince learned about what had happened, she had already died.

The prince was heartbroken.

The prince burst into tears as he held onto her lifeless body. The most painful thing in the world isn't seeing the person you love dead in

with in

your arms, it's not being to be the moments before they passed.

That was the most painful thing to experience in the world.

Rorita's voice cracked as she read out the store, she soon stopped as she couldn't go on.

The maid who was beside her assumed that Rorita was upset because this story didn't seem appropriate for children. She then said, "What is it with modern fairy tales nowadays? How could they write such a tragic love story like this for children?"

The maid then gently reached out and took the story book from Rorita's hands, "Maybe we shouldn't read this. I'll get another book."

But, Rorita stopped the maid.

She looked at the maid and asked, "Do you think this story makes sense?"

The maid looked back at Rorita in confusion.

Rorita explained, "As far as I've read, the most painful thing to experience in the world isn't seeing your beloved die, but to miss out on being with them before they pass on." That was the lesson the story was teaching, that the most painful thing to experience in the world was to miss out on being with your beloved before they died.

The maid hadn't expected Rorita to

ask her this. She replied, "I think it does make sense. It does hurt to see someone you love die, but the pain of regret with not being with them hurts for much longer. Being able to see them one last time while their alive helps to comfort both of them."
