My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey) -
Chapter 2674
When she thought that Dory was bragging, Dahlia hated Dory even more.
She made a face and yelled at her, "You should be ashamed of yourself for lying to me Dory! Saying you're going to such a prestigious school that I couldn't even get into! You're lying!" Dory's face turned red from embarrassment.
She defended herself, "But I really am going to that school My mommy told me I was."
Dahlia smiled.
She then said, "She's lying to you then! Everyone in the area knows that your mommy doesn't love you. She didn't take you to kindergarten, I doubt she's sending you to that school." "But she's been very good to me now." Dory emphasized, "Especially now."
Dory noticed her mother had been a lot nicer to her ever since she talked to her about going to school.
Being very naive and innocent, Dory simply believed that her mother was now much kinder to her.
But Dahlia didn't believe her at all.
She pointed her finger at her and yelled out, "Liar! You're a big fat liar!"
Dahlia then left with her mother.
Dory felt very sad as she stood there by herself.
She really was going to that school. Why didn't anyone believe her?
She soon shrugged off her sadness.
And felt happy again.
She would be going to school.
She would get to meet so many other children there.
And she would get to meet all the different teachers.
She would also be in a nice, brightly lit classroom.
It's going to be amazing.
It was time for Dory to go to school.
Aimeen walked with her to school.
And even told her to study hard.
Aimeen did this because she had already come up with a plan.
If Dory was able to get into middle school, then high school and then college and eventually university, that meant that Yesseca would continue giving them even more money!
But, if she wasn't able to perform well in her studies, she would have to drop out and start working at a young age like all the other girls did in the suburbs. Would Yesseca give her any money then?
Of course not!
Still, Aimeen felt like she had done a pretty good job so far.
That's why Aimeen told Dory to focus on her studies.
Dory felt happy inside to hear her mother tell her to study well
Because she knew that her mother still cared about her. Even though she constantly yelled at her, even though she had beat her many times and even forgot to enroll her into a kindergarten.
Despite all of that, she was still good to her.
She wouldn't have enrolled her into primary school and emphasized the importance of a good education if she wasn't.
Dory nodded her head vigorously.
"I won't let you down mommy. I'll definitely work hard in school!"
"I'll be the top student in the class, no, in the whole grade!"
Aimeen smiled.
If Dory managed to be the top student in her class or her entire grade, Yesseca would be very pleased. Then she would definitely send her more money. That would be wonderful!
Selina had dropped off Sabrina at school.
While Dory was excited to be able to study in the top school in the city, Sabrina thought it was a useless school.
Sabrina looked very unhappy when she was dropped off at the school gates.
She blurted out at her mother, "Mommy, why are all of my friends going to elite schools but I have to
go to this lousy one?! Mommy, why can't I go to their schools?!"
Selina patiently explained to Sabrina, "Sabrina, this isn't a lousy school. It's one of the best schools in the city."
Selina wasn't wrong.
She had specially chosen this school for Sabrina!
It was the best primary school in the city!
