My Jealous Alpha Stepbrother -
Chapter 103
Becky
The morning after a night with so much s*x I’m certain I halt when I walk, I find Josie in the kitchen.
I was early trying to find Misha, but he was busy. He is packing for the journey into the vampire realm, and so is Avery, something I should probably be doing too. But I can’t!
I need to complain to someone, and Josie will be my therapist! We haven’t spoken one-on-one, yet I’ve reasoned that since Misha likes her, she can become my friend too!
“Josie!” I hiss.
The redhead turns around in her seat, almost spitting out her coffee when I come running to the table where she is sitting. I probably look wild. I forgot to brush my hair. Who cares? This is important!
“I have a problem! And… and I need you to help me!” I’m blabbering, and my heart only beats faster and faster. “Please tell me that you will help me! I need you, Josie!”
“Uhh…” her eyes are huge, and for a moment, I fear she won’t help me. But then her expression turns determined, and she nods. “Sure, I will help you. What do you need me for? Is a werewolf bothering you? Is my pack not treating you well? Whose a*s should I kick for you?”
I love the loyalty in Josie’s eyes. The moon goddess chose the best possible mate for Misha. I like her and take a seat in front of her. Since this is very important, I also place my smaller hands over hers.
It’s a bit shocking how small I feel compared to the werewolves. Even Josie, who is a female, is bigger than me. She is tall, not curvy, but pretty muscular. I would expect it from the luna of Misha’s pack, though. I also saw Josie battle against Misha—she is a warrior.
“My problem isn’t with your pack,” I tell her and sigh. My stomach is churning with what I’m about to say to her. “It’s with my mate.”
Josie grimaces. “Oh, Becky. I’m sorry Elijah isn’t your type, but I’m sure that appearance isn’t everything. Even if you’re not attracted—”
“Oh, no-no-no!” I interrupt her. “I’m VERY attracted to him, and that’s the f*****g problem. Elijah is charming, and he knows it, and after I blew his c**k yesterday—” I gauge her reaction.
Josie doesn’t strike me as a prude, but she is staring at me. I continue talking to her. “After I blew Elijah’s c**k, it raised his confidence. He has been kissing me non-stop, f*****g me… and chuckling when I get aroused only a second later. We had like a billion rounds yesterday.”
Josie blinks. “I have… I have so many questions, but my first one will be this: how is too much s*x a problem?”
“Because Elijah bullies me! He found out that he doesn’t even need to k**s me to turn me on—all he needs to do is talk and show off that booty, and it’s a huge f*****g problem! I have no power in this relationship, and he is a literal s*x demon, Josie! I will be dead if this goes on!”
Right then, I hear a familiar chuckle. Every hair rises to stand on the edge of my body, and when I turn around like a rusty old robot, Elijah grins at me from the doorframe.
“Good morning, ladies,” Elijah, with his new body, or old one… original one! Either way, he stands there, and now, Josie is gaping at him entirely wide-eyed.
“I see the problem now,” she whispers to me, and then I witness her plastering a smile on her lips. “Elijah! Good to see you!”
It’s obvious Josie doesn’t mean her words. We were in the middle of an important discussion. And she glances at me as if telling me to send Elijahaway—I would if I could, but one look at that man and my brain waves parachute themselves out of my ears!
“Umm… eh…” I swallow thickly.
How is my mate so gorgeous all the time?!
Elijah is wearing tight jeans and a black t-shirt that leaves little to the imagination. I have no idea where he gets his clothes from. Probably from one of the many enchanted pieces of furniture in the house. Avery has this Beauty And The Beast thing going on…
“As talkative as usual,” Elijah snickers while preparing two cups of coffee. There is a quirk on his l*p. “You like coffee?”
I nod dumbly, and I swear to the vampire lord that I’m having an ocean situation in my panties right now.
Elijah is hot, sure, but now he is seriously preparing coffee for me? No one has ever prepared me a coffee!
Tears swell up in my eyes and my bottom l*p trembles. And Josie, who hasn’t even been my friend for five minutes, immediately straightens.
Her eyes go to Elijah, and she is definitely misreading the situation. I can see her hackles rising. She is ready to protect me, and I don’t speak because f**k—I want to be fussed about! She cares about me too!
“Elijah, I’m sorry to say this, but could you walk outside the kitchen? I was having a private conversation with Josie about something. It’s pack-related, and seeing you haven’t done a b***d oath with my mate yet, I don’t trust your ears enough to let you hear it. I hope you understand. It’s nothing against you, but I must think of my pack.”
Surprise flickers in Elijah’s eyes, then it turns to calm understanding, and a smile crosses his lips. “I understand,” he looks at me. “Let me just bring my mate’s coffee to the table, and I will go and find Misha for the b***d oath. My loyalty lies where my mate is; if she is a member of this pack, I will gladly become one too.”
My heart…
“Great,” Josie smiles, a bit guiltily since that talk about Elijah needing to take a b***d oath probably was an excuse. “Tell my mate I said hi, and remind him that I need the locker assigned as my bodyguard.”
Confusion crosses Elijah’s face. “You want a locker as your bodyguard?”
“Yes,” she smiles. “I trust the furniture more than I trust people.”
I lift an eyebrow at that. “I could stay behind with you too if you want? Not that I don’t trust Avery’s magic, but… we could have some time to, you know, plot.”
Josie seems to understand what I’m getting at and nods. “If you’re not required to go with Misha, then sure, stay with me. I’m sure we can find a solution to your… problem.”
That is the wrong thing to say. Elijah immediately pales. “Is something bothering you, Becky?” his eyes are worried, and my heart cracks open even more. “Did something happen this morning?”
“No, no, no!” I sigh. “I’m fine! I just…” I search for the words needed so my mate will leave. Right now, it looks like he will fight a war for me. The devotion is there. “I just need a little bit of gossip time with Josie… is that alright with you?”
“Oh,” Elijah seems to calm down. “Sure, that’s fine,” his curious expression tells me he doesn’t actually want to leave. He is such a woman. “I will go and find Misha then since he probably wants us to finish this b***d oath, and then I’m guessing I’m going to the vampire realm in your stead?”
Elijah said he wanted to see where I grew up, so I won’t take this journey away from him.
I smile. “You should go, and when you see Damien, tell him I will kick his a*s if he doesn’t form an alliance with us!”
Elijah grins. “I will forward your message.”
I trust him on that. Elijah is loyal, and Damien… if he doesn’t join Misha’s cause, then I will personally deliver him to hell with my own fists. We need him and the other vampires on our side.
