My Jealous Alpha Stepbrother -
Chapter 150
Michelle
My life is almost perfect: I’m the future Alpha of my pack. I have two best friends: Janita, and Clover, who supports me in everything I do. My parents are awesome, and so are my grandparents. My grades are good, and I live in a beautiful mansion.
The problem?
My younger sister, Bella, is dating Kit Howler, and I hate that guy! He is rude, arrogant, basically a bully, and ugh! He is like this big zit in your a*s that you can’t quite reach, and I just don’t get WHY Bella is seeing him!
“Why did you have to invite that demon i***t to my birthday party? I wanted it to be a family thing! I’m turning twenty-four; it’s hardly something you need a big celebration for, and then you go and invite your new boyfriend, who I hate, to my party?!”
Bella laughs while fixing my hair in front of the mirror. “Take it easy, sis. I know that you and Kit dislike each other, but I can assure you that he won’t be in his demon form today; I dislike that he is a demon too. But his human form?” She whistles in amazement. “Kit is so hot that I could probably come from looking at his face.”
I shudder in my seat. “You’re disturbing to find Kit pretty!”
“He IS pretty!”
“No, the guy is repulsive! When we share classes, he acts like a disgusting piece of s**t. He burps, scratches at his belly whenever he feels like it, and rests his feet on the tables. The guy is unsanitary!”
“But he has a six-pack!”
“And so what?!” I snap at her. “So does almost every f*****g werewolf in our pack—why are you drooling over Kit Howler of all people?! Our packs aren’t even that friendly with each other! Have you forgotten that he is the kid of Sky Howler?!”
“The fact that our dad dislikes Kit’s dad only makes Kit even hotter. I can’t wait for the d**k measuring contest that will happen once Kit gets here in an hour…” Bella winks at me in the mirror, and I g***n in frustration.
“You’re f*****g impossible…”
Bella giggles. “You’re just mad that I’m dating the hot guy that has been teasing you throughout high school.”
I cross my arms, and pout while glaring into the mirror. Thinking of Kit’s telltale smirk and annoying voice is enough to make me bitter. The guy is younger than me, but because he is a demon, the Magical Academy let him skip a few years. Now the guy has turned eighteen over the summer, and he is studying on a higher level than me.
Did I mention that Kit’s grades are top-notch and that when we were younger I was his mentor, and now Kit’s grades are better than mine so he has switched into being MY mentor instead? It’s f*****g embarrassing that a kid six years younger than me is my mentor, and then also teasing me about it.
Before the summer vacation, Kit had the audacity to lean over my notes and go, “Oh, you’re wrong about that… that spell is actually written like this…” and then he took over my pen, scribbled down the correct way of spelling what I had tried to write, and smirked at me like the a*****e he is.
To make matters even worse, he said, “I can’t believe you spelled that wrong, Michelle. You used to be so good at spelling. In fact, you used to be good at everything, but now, your grades are only getting worse. Don’t worry, though. You have a smart, capable demon at your disposal—I will help you get your grades up in no time at all.”
Michelle
My life is almost perfect: I’m the future Alpha of my pack. I have two best friends: Janita, and Clover, who supports me in everything I do. My parents are awesome, and so are my grandparents. My grades are good, and I live in a beautiful mansion.
I hate that guy.
He is so arrogant.
Cocky.
Full of himself.
And stupidly handsome to boot.
Black hair that reaches down to his shoulders, yellow glowing eyes and a sarcastic, dark sort of smile that never fails to make me shiver.
I wonder why his eyes are yellow and not red?
Wait, who cares? It doesn’t change that I hate his guts.
A sigh leaves my lips. “Can you please ask Kit not to come over? It’s in the middle of summer and I would like to at least spend one month without seeing that i***t’s face. Summer vacation is about relaxing, not suffering.”
Bella is almost done braiding my pink hair. It’s naturally white, but I like to put some colors in it, and bubblegum pink fits me. It looks cool combined with my eyes. Like my dad, I have odd-colored ones: one eye is blue and the other red to hint at me being a vampire and werewolf hybrid. I hardly have any of my mom’s lycan b***d, though.
It’s weird because Bella was born as a pureblooded lycan, and has my mom’s red hair and her eyes entirely blue.
“It would be weird to tell Kit not to come after I invited him, sis,” Bella sighs, and meets my eyes in the mirror. There is a sheepish smile on her lips. “He also turned eighteen last week, and I was sort of hoping that him coming here could be our way of celebrating him too. I mean, there is cake?”
I snarl. “I don’t want him eating from my cake! He doesn’t deserve it!”
Bella laughs. “You’re being silly!”
I stand up from the chair. “I’m not being silly. I’m just angry that you invited the one person on this planet that I can’t stand, and trust me, once dad hears about this, he will ask you to tell Kit to return to the shithole he came from!”
Bella gasps. “You can’t side with our parents! Why do you always do that, anyway? I get that you’re the future Alpha, but you’re such a f*****g killjoy! Why can’t you let me date Kit? He is the only guy who doesn’t mind that I’m freakishly strong!”
“That’s because he is even stronger than you, you dipshit!” I yell back at her. “Kit Howler is a f*****g incubus, and a powerful one at that! His dad is the freaking demon king, and to be honest, I don’t understand why you’re dating a guy that you can’t even sleep with! You’re not his fated mate and sleeping with him would kill you!”
I regret yelling at Bella the second tears form in her eyes. “s*x isn’t everything! And… and Kit told me that there is a way for us to be together—we have to visit the eternal spring in the Magical Realm and ask the moon goddess to make us mates!”
My eyes narrow. “That means that you both would have to reject your fated mates—is that a sacrifice you’re willing to make? Give up on a fated mate, and take a chance on one you weren’t meant to be with? Are you sure that you and Kit are endgame?”
Bella winces at my question, and I can see how her hope is shattering into pieces. I sometimes hate that I’m the logical one, the sister that doesn’t believe in rainbows and butterflies, but someone got to be the bearer of bad news.
It just sucks that Bella doesn’t understand that, and like usual, it has led to yet another argument between us.
“I f*****g hate you sometimes!” Bella picks up a pillow from my bed and hurls it at me. I pick it up with lightning-fast reflexes, and she growls in frustration. “Stop being better than me at everything you do! And stop getting in the way of my happiness and just be happy that I’ve found someone!”
“I am happy that you’ve found someone!” I exclaim and shake my head. “I’m just also a bit… shocked. I mean, Kit Howler? Really?! Do you really think he is a great match for you when you can’t even accept his demon form?”
“Kit has told me that, for my sake, he will never transform into a demon again! We are meant to be, and I won’t let your negativity get in the way of things! I love him!”
“You declare that you love every freaking guy that you’re dating, and you switch boyfriends faster than you go through underwear!”
“Well, at least I’m not a f*****g stuck-up virgin like you that won’t ever get laid because she has this fantasy of meeting her fated mate!”
My cheeks burn. “It’s not stupid to wait for my fated mate!”
“You’re twenty-four and a virgin—it won’t be long until your ninety and still a bitter woman that needs to get f*****g laid!”
“That’s mean!” I shout, hurt that my sister thinks I’m silly for waiting for my fated mate when the mate bond is considered sacred in our family.
To Bella? Not so much. She is fuming and hissing at me. “You f*****g deserve it for never letting me just be happy!”
With that, Bella storms out of my room and slams the door behind her. It makes my mom, Josie, snarl at her from our parent’s room.
“What the f**k was that?!” My mom growls. “If you’re going to throw a fit, then go do it in your own apartment!”
Bella doesn’t hesitate to give her attitude. “I live in the magical realm, mom, and you said it’s fine that I stay over this weekend because of Michelle’s birthday party!”
“Yes, you’re allowed to stay at the mansion. Of course, you are! We love having you home, but not if you’re going to be slamming the doors and yelling at your sister at every given opportunity! Seriously… why can’t you girls ever get along?!”
“Oh, please! You’re not mad that we aren’t getting along, mon—you’re mad that I interrupted you when you were busy boning dad!”
The words that come out of Bella’s mouth sometimes…
My cheeks burn in embarrassment, and I facepalm while muttering. “Why is my family so f*****g weird? I should have celebrated my birthday in the magical realm… at least then I wouldn’t have to deal with f*****g Kit Howler…”
Gah, I still can’t believe that piece of s**t hybrid is coming over in less than an hour. How am I supposed to enjoy my birthday?
