Chapter 16

(Angel)

We landed about an hour ago. We stopped to eat something before we caught a taxi. We stopped just outside the border. I turned to my brother Elijah. "Can you wait here just for a few minutes? I will tell him you're with me and I'll come and get you" I said. He didn't like what I said, but he still nodded.

"I can't afford for them to attack you, Elijah, you're my brother, and I don't want you hurting my pack if they attack you", I admitted. His eyes softened and nodded again. "Okay, princess. Make it quick" he said. I used my Lycan speed to get to the East border.

"Luna" I heard Manny say as I approached. I put my finger on my lips.

"I want to surprise Colin, so please don't say anything" I said.

"He's not here, Luna. He's in a meeting in town", Manny said.

"Where at?" I asked.

"It's called 'The Bound Hotel'. He's meeting Alpha Farres. They wanted to talk about the recent rogue attacks." I frowned at the name of the hotel and what he said about the recent rogue attacks before nodding. "Keep this a secret for now", I winked before using my Lycan speed again and went to my brother.

"Are we ready?" he asked.

"He's not here. He's at a meeting in town. I'm going to surprise him there" I said. My brother nods and we head to town. I called an Uber and about ten minutes later it arrived. We got in the car and I told the driver where I wanted to go. My brother frowned at the name of the hotel, but I just shrugged. Fifteen minutes later, we arrived. I looked at my brother and he sighed.

"Hello, I'm Alpha Farres, what can I do for you, Luna?" he asked after his eyes went to my mark. "I'm looking for my mate, Alpha Colin Knight", I said.

"Oh, yes, it's a pleasure to meet you, Luna. Your mate is in room 309 on the third floor" he said.

"Thank you Alpha Farres". I bowed my head in respect and he did the same. I walked fast to the elevator and pressed the button for the third floor. Suddenly, a familiar pain made its way to my chest. I got out of the elevator clutching my chest. I knew this pain, but it's ten times worse than before. I got back in the elevator.

"Luna?" I heard someone call and I looked to see Ray. The look of concern was clear on his face. He got in the elevator with me. I screamed when the doors to the elevator closed. The pain was getting worse by the second. As soon as the door opened, I got out, only to stop clutching my chest.

"Luna", Ray called, but I put my hand up as if to tell him I was okay. I take a deep breath trying to walk through the pain. As I got closer to the room, I could hear a female moaning. The door was wide open and that's when my world shattered. There was my mate pounding fast into none other than Tara. My heart shattered into a million pieces. I felt the fire within me stir and Tara was my target.

"Alpha" I heard Ray shout, snapping me out of the malicious thought I was having. Tara jumps and looks at us and for a second i swear her eyes were pitch black, including her sclera. Colin looks at us and for a second he looks like he's not there until his eyes land

on me.

"Angel" he said, pulling out of Tara. I put a hand up, making him stop in his tracks.

"I don't want to hear it. Don't look for me and don't follow me", I said, looking behind him and shaking my head in disgust. Couldn't he wait for me? Was he that desperate to fvck?

"I hope it was worth it, Alpha Colin", I turned and ran out of there. I wasn't going to wait for the elevator, so I took the stairs. As soon as I got to the ground level, I took a deep breath. I couldn't let my brother know what had happened. I need to get the hell out of here before Colin came out.

"Hey sis. Are you okay?" Elijah asks.

"Everything is fine. Colin won't be able to join us. He's having problems with rogues". I told him what Manny had told me earlier.

"Do you want to go back to the pack and rest or stay here?" my brother asked.

"Let's find somewhere else. I don't like this hotel", my brother frowned, but he nodded. We left the hotel and walked for a while. It was silent for a while until we found a motel.

"I'll get us a room" he said. When he went into the office, I sighed, looking up at the starry sky. I have never talked to the moon goddess, but I guess there's a first time for everything.

'Moon goddess, I don't know why my mate betrayed me and even though I should be angry with him, all I ask is that you look out for him. Even though my heart hurts for what he did, I still love him and he's the father of our child' I sighed placing a hand on my belly.

"I know something is wrong with you, sis. Just know that I'm here for you if you want to talk", my brother said. He took my hand and guided me to our room.

"I'm going to take a shower" I said, walking to the bathroom. I closed the door and the tears automatically began to stream down my face. My body was on auto pilot as I turned on the shower and undressed. I grabbed the soap and washed my body. After washing my body twice, I washed my face, then turned off the shower. I dried myself and then wore my pajamas. When I walked out the bathroom, my brother had some snacks on his bed.

"I got some snacks" he said, gesturing to the snacks. I smiled as a tear left my eyes. My brother got up and pulled me into a hug. I returned his hug before sitting down and grabbing a chocolate bar. My brother walked to the bathroom to take a shower. I ate some chips, a chocolate bar, and a soda. When my brother came out, he also ate some snacks. We watched some TV, but I couldn't concentrate. So, I decided to lie down.

"Okay sis. Goodnight" my brother said, getting up from his bed and kissing the top of my head. I laid down and I let the tears silently fall, but something told me my brother knew I was crying. I cried myself to sleep.

It's been a week since grandma found out about dark magic being used on me. She has been working hard trying to find a cure. I tried not to be around any unmated she- wolves alone just in case. My wolf has gone quiet ever since that night. I have never heard him so weak before. I had gone to Doctor Sara and I told her about a pinch on my neck that night. She drew some blood and confirmed that I had wolfsbane in my system, which is why Xan was so weak. It pissed me off and I knew that next time I saw Tara I would rip her head off. The door to my office bursts open and grandma runs in with a small glass bottle with a blue- ish, silver liquid.

"I found it" she said. She looked exhausted and had dark circles around her eyes.

"Grandma, you look exhausted" I said, standing up.

"I'm alright sweetheart. Now, I need you to drink this" she said, handing me the small glass bottle. I opened it and drank it.

"Gross grandma" I said, gagging after drinking the liquid.

"Lay down" she says, and I do as she says. Just as I laid down, my body began to convulse. My whole body began to contour. I felt something coming up my throat and before I could stop myself, it came up. Black liquid, almost tar looking splattered all over the floor. "Oh, goddess" I heard mom say. Once I was done vomiting this black liquid, my body started convulsing again. And just as fast as it started, it was over. I felt people moving around the room. I wanted to open my eyes but they felt too heavy. "He's going to be out for the rest of the day" I heard grandma say and everything fated away.
