My Mate Is A Human
Chapter 32

-Shery, wait, we can talk for a moment.

-I don’t think we have anything to talk about. He replied, pausing.

-I’ll go downstairs. Eve left them alone.

-I’m sorry, I know I’ve been ignoring you these days but I have my reasons. I didn’t do it because I wanted to.

It was cheeky, and I was going to tell him that he was seeing that kid. I didn’t think I could take so much pain.

-Save the explanations, I assure you I don’t care. Do with your life what you want Ethan, I don’t have time for this.

-What? Please don’t be mad at me, I promise I’ll….

-NO. Don’t promise anything. I don’t want you to, as soon as I can, my sister and I will get out of here.

But what was going on? Why did she change so drastically? I couldn’t believe that just for a few days she was acting like this. Something else had to happen. Shery turned to leave, but Ethan stopped her.

-What happened in the office, did it bother you?

-You’re crazy! Just leave me alone, will you?

-What happened? Because I was serious about you. He scowled at him.

-Really? You’re a lying son of a bitch. I don’t want you talking to me again.

She let go of his hand and went downstairs, leaving him alone to go over everything he’d said.

-What the f**k did you do now,” Dom told him.

-Nothing, what could I have done wrong.

-Well, you did something, because she’s mad at you.

While Ethan debated whether or not to talk to Shery halfway through breakfast, she ignored him completely. He would look like the perfect idiot if he struck up a conversation with her while she was in that angry state. I was still thinking, what had I done wrong? For not seeing her for a couple of days he didn’t think he could make her so angry.

I could barely eat a bite, stupid Ethan! Coming to make fun of me to my stupid face. Yeah because that’s what I’m stupid for believing a perfect stranger. And to top it all off, I couldn’t take my eyes off him. What the f**k was I looking at him for? She didn’t realise she was angry. The least she wanted was for him to be watching her.

Well, the tension here is hot, Ethan and Shery are splashing sparks all over the place, what had happened? Megan thought as she sipped her juice, watching the two out of the corner of her eye.

After about fifteen minutes, JB showed up to have breakfast with them, it was a regular morning sight to see him at the Alpha’s house. Further back they were joined by Deysi. They were all astonished to see her sitting next to Ethan? They were silent for a moment, and the only one who ignored her was Ethan himself, who couldn’t take his eyes off Shery.

-Don’t look at me like that, I have to eat too. The girl replied as if reading everyone’s mind.

No one said anything, Megan looked at Shery and she had sadness and pain in her eyes. The day before, her brother had told her that the albino had chosen him as her mate but he had rejected her. Would Shery have noticed? It was impossible. To everyone’s surprise, the first to get up was Shery herself. She excused herself and left without further ado.

-Excuse me! said her sister, following in her wake.

-I’ll leave too, excuse me. Megan followed them, she needed to find out.

-Megan said to her brother mentally, “Megan, talk to Shery, I need to know what’s wrong with her.

-You screwed up for sure,” he reprimanded her.

The young albino girl looked at him longingly, and with that gleam in her eye that expressed her longing to be with him in every way possible.

-I have work to do. Said the boy, “Come on JB.

-Wait Ethan…” said the girl.

-What?

-What about last night…

-That was a mistake, and you know it.

-I’m sorry. She apologized, but she didn’t feel like she meant it.

He nodded and left without saying anything else… JB followed him quietly until they were out of the house.

-What the f**k did you do with that albino brother?

-What?

-You heard me. -And why is Shery in a foul mood?

-I don’t know, I haven’t done anything to her.

-Brother you can’t be with both girls. -What the f**k are you talking about?

-What the f**k are you talking about?

-The albino, who else?

-I don’t have anything to do with that girl. -But what about what she said?

-But what about what she said?

Just remembering it made him angry, just thinking about how the girl had snuck into his room with the intention of f*****g made him irritated that his room had been impregnated with her scent. He’d only wanted Shery’s, and now she didn’t even want to see him. F**k. He told his friend what had happened and he understood everything.

-You’re in trouble, my friend, because it seems to me that Shery has caught you.

-You think so?

-Yeah, because her mood.

-Shit!

The three girls were in the garden of Megan’s house, none of them were saying anything. They were just sitting there staring at nothing. It was awkward, Megan thought.

-So, will you tell us what’s wrong, Shery? she asked, breaking the silence.

-Nothing. She answered dryly.

-Your mood says otherwise. Come on, tell me what’s wrong. He urged her to speak.

She saw her sigh as a few tears slipped down her cheek. Eve took her hand and squeezed it in support, Megan looked at the scene and knew that something bad had happened.

Hours later, the three girls were inside the house. Shery had told Megan everything, Megan sighed at the trouble her brother was in. At nightfall, of course, the brown-haired girl told her brother everything that had happened and he was furious with rage.

It was all because of that kid that he was in trouble with his girl. Of course he would settle the matter that very night. Everyone had already gone to their rooms, but Ethan was pacing back and forth in his room looking for the right words to talk to Shery. And the only explanation he could give her was to tell her the truth.

He was determined. He left his room and went to his girl’s room. He knocked a couple of times until he got an answer. Shery herself had opened the door. He grimaced at the sight of her standing there. And it hurt her deeply.

-What do you want? she whispered.

-Talk to you… Please. He said pleadingly.

-There’s nothing we need to talk about.

-Please, Shery, it’s important.

He saw her sigh, looked back and walked slowly out of the room. He led her to her bedroom and she stopped in the doorway.

-What do you think?

-No one will disturb or interrupt us here.

-Really? she asked sarcastically, she was pissed.

-I promise.

She reluctantly walked in and stood in the middle of the room with her arms crossed. Waiting for him.

-I’ll get straight to the point.

-That’s good, because I’m sleepy and I don’t feel like listening to lies.

-I’ll tell you the honest truth ok. I don’t have anything with Deysi, what you saw the other night….

-How do you know…? Megan. He said rolling his eyes.

-That doesn’t matter, believe me, I have nothing with her. You’re the one I want and desire.

-I didn’t think so when she walked out of here half naked.

-She has a kind of attraction to me that’s a little hard to explain.

-Don’t tell me, no one has noticed.

He approached her slowly, not wanting to frighten her or make her more angry. But he needed her closeness or she would die. She recoiled as she saw the steps he was taking.

-I love you Shery. I’m deeply in love with you.

F**k, she hadn’t expected that, and now what would she do with a confession like that? When he thought of something to say… A bell rang out loudly in the village. Then a lot of people started shouting non-stop, and in the distance he could hear us being attacked.

-What’s going on Ethan?

-Shery, please stay inside the house, don’t come out for anything in the world.

-But what…

-Please.

There was concern in his eyes, he took her in his arms, gave her a tight hug and then pressed his lips to hers. He tasted her intensely, as they parted a thin trickle of saliva still held them together.

-I love you.

It was the last thing he said before he ran out the door, he looked out and saw that Marcus had also left. He felt afraid, and a strange emptiness in his stomach.

-Shery! Megan shouted. -Come on, we have to take shelter.

-What? She was dragged into the room where a more than frightened Eve came out.

-Let’s go to the shelter now.

At that the albino girl came out too, and Megan had no choice but to take her too. They all hurried down to a basement. The brown-haired girl opened a wooden door on the floor and a ladder hung from it. They all hurried down.

A light bulb was turned on, and the girls looked at each other, not understanding what was going on.

Once on the surface, Ethan and his father saw the chaos that had formed. A pack of wild wolves was attacking the Blue Moon pack. They were out of control, the older wolves had turned to defend themselves and the weaker ones in the cruel darkness.

JB and his father joined them, the four men transformed to support the rest of their people… The animals relentlessly attacked anyone who got in their way, be it children or women.
