He laughed sinisterly. "Why? I risked my life to save you. Don't you have any gratitude in your heart? You can't even fulfill this simple request of mine?"

I didn't dare to look him in the eye. I threw out an excuse, "I can't just abruptly leave when I am already employed by the Milton family-"
