I leaned my head on his shoulder and sighed, saying, "There have been problems occurring continuously in the Lancille Village project, and I'm responsible for it. How can I not keep thinking about it?" He smiled faintly and said, "They are all things that can't be controlled, so it's useless for you to keep worrying about it. Besides, you can spend my money as much as you wish. It doesn't matter if there are no profits or even you loss money."

I raised my arm to stroke the stubble on his chin and said, "It's easy for you to say that. One single loss I cause is equivalent to millions of dollars. How many times can I continue doing that?"

He smiled lightly, "You could, as many times as you wish!"

"Hendrix, it's time for you to shave!" Hendrix's beard had grown so much that it was pricking my fingers.

He simply replied with a hum, as he pinched my waist with his huge fingers, "Are you going to help me with it?"

I nodded and got up, then led him into the bathroom. I got the shaver and said, "Sebastian is asking about your thoughts regarding the project."

He hugged me, pressing me against the sink, and said, "How thoughtful of him to make my dear Mrs. Roberts work and gather information for him."

I took some shaving foam and applied it around his chin. He was too tall, and it was too tiring for me to keep standing on my toes, so I asked him to sit down on a chair. I proceeded to sit on his leg and lowered my head to shave his beard carefully.

"Things aren't as exaggerated as you put it. None of us expected the Milton Group to take over the Roberts Group's project. Besides, he just asked for your thoughts on it. It's not really gathering information per se."

He hummed in assent. I was helping him to shave his beard, so it was inconvenient for him to speak. He just looked at me with gentle eyes. It could be seen that he was in a good mood.

It was my first time shaving his beard, so I was a little clumsy. Fortunately, I didn't cut his face. I then took a towel and wiped his chin for him after finishing it.

The stubble was shaved off, and he looked much cleaner and younger. I placed my face by his chin and looked at him for a moment as I nodded with satisfaction and said, "It's nice. You look much

better!"

He curled his lips and grabbed me by the waist. He then said in a low and magnetic voice, "I feel like you're trying to tempt me or seduce me right now."

I pursed my lips and was stunned for a moment. My cheeks flushed uncontrollably pink. I was only wearing a singlet since I had just gotten out of the shower, and my lower half was bare.

I had been fully paying attention to helping him shave, and that was why I naturally failed to realize how forward it had been for me to sit on his lap. The moment he grabbed my waist, the whole situation seemed to become even more awkward.

"Don't think too much. I was just helping you shave!" I spoke as I tried to get up, but he pressed me down again.

"Mhmm, I just wanted to hug you!" Hendrix was not even trying to hide his motives.

I put the shaver down as I looked at him and said, "Hendrix, shouldn't you wash up and get ready to sleep? I haven't been sleeping well for the past two days. I'm a little tired now!"

He showed a faint smile, reached out towards my neck and kissed me. It couldn't even be considered an actual kiss, but his cold lips pecked lightly on mine, making me feel a little restless.

I pursed my lips a little and said, "Hendrix!"

He smiled faintly, still hugging me as he leaned his forehead against mine, and caressed my ear. "The Roberts Group is going to withdraw themselves from the Lancille Village Project to prevent any further loss. By then, there will be other companies who will take over. Arianna, do you want to go back to Jarold City with me?"

I stayed in his arms and squinted my eyes at him, enjoying his gentleness as I said, "However, I still want to do my best. I don't want to go back to Jarold City to just be the wife of a noble household, able to only wait for you to come home every day."

He sighed slightly and said, "I'm not trying to keep you like a canary in a cage. When we return to Jarold City, you can do whatever you want. Didn't you want to take postgraduate courses before? You can take the examination now. If you don't want to do that, you can join the Roberts Group and continue working like how you did before."
