My lips parted slightly, and I said, "I was an orphan she adopted."

He nodded and remained silent for a moment before looking at Hendrix and myself. Then, he paused and said, "No wonder Dalton allowed you to marry Hendrix." "Grandpa, just say whatever you want to say directly. Don't keep us in the dark like this!" Naomi was growing impatient, and she urged Ziglar to continue on. After a pause, Ziglar said, "I don't know much about Carol. I knew her from Dalton. I only know that she came from Jarold City. Later on, some things happened, and she went to Hovell to live alone. I don't know much about what happened after."

"Did my grandma have any other relatives?" For so many years, Grandma had never mentioned those things to me.

Ziglar thought about it and said, "Surely, she would. She came from Jarold City, so her other relatives should all be there. However, it has been so many years, and I am afraid that her relatives may have already passed away."

I didn't continue on asking. Ziglar didn't seem to know anything else, so I didn't ask further.

What's more, all those things were in the past. Grandma had never told me about these things, as perhaps she really didn't want me to know.

The night in Lancille Village was not too busy, nor was it too cold. Still, the temperature was fairly low, and the weather was chilly.

Ziglar's health wasn't that good anymore, so he had to go to bed early. The nanny helped him upstairs.

Naomi held my hand and looked at Hendrix as he said, "Mr. Roberts, we made a deal today. Arianna will be sleeping with me here tonight, so you shouldn't disturb us!"

Hendrix slightly narrowed his eyes and looked at me. He said nothing, but the meaning behind his look was quite clear.

I held my forehead and looked at Naomi as I said, "It's getting late, you should go to bed early!"

Then, I got up. The nanny had already tidied up the rooms and led us to the second floor.

Naomi pouted and said, "Arianna, you value your relationships over friendships. When you have a man, you stop prioritizing your good friends. Since you two can be together any time, why can't you just stay with me tonight?"

Seeing the pitiful look on her face, I gave Hendrix another look. I pitied her and thought that what Naomi said was right.

I opened my mouth and said, "Hendrix..."

"I can't sleep well alone!" Hendrix said without waiting for me to speak.

Looking at Naomi, he then said, "It's not too late for you to call Sebastian to come over!"

Devastated, Naomi glared at him, saying, "Mr. Roberts, how can you be that selfish? It's just for one night, and it's not like I will eat your woman up."

"I can't leave her!" Hendrix said shamelessly.

Naomi was rendered speechless and turned back to her own room. I looked at Hendrix and couldn't help but say, "Hendrix, she might need someone to talk to!" She was a girl who was usually easygoing and playful, but she seemed lonely deep down.

Hendrix nodded, held my face and kissed me on the cheeks. He then said, "Go on then, don't talk till too late. Get to bed early and wake up early!"

I nodded, the edges of my lips curling into a smile, saying, "Hendrix, you're so nice!"

"You're much nicer!" He smiled and motioned for me to go over to Naomi's room.

Naomi's door was not locked, and I gently pushed it open.

The room was decorated in a pink palette. Naomi was lying on the pretty pink bed, sleeping with her eyes closed.

When she heard the sound of me coming in, she thought that I was the maid and she said, "Please go to the room next door and see if they need anything. Please take good care of them."
