My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) -
Chapter 1108
I heard it and wanted to answer the voice, but I couldn't say a word.
He was still calling out my name, "Arianna." I tried to find the source of the sound based on my senses. Probably because I was trying too hard to grasp a hold of it, I suddenly found it difficult to even breathe.
In a daze, I seemed to have opened my eyes, and saw the black shadow standing next to me. I was more than familiar with it.
I reached out to grab onto him again. I felt the familiar warmth, but I didn't have much strength, and my hands slipped away from him again.
In the next second, my hand was suddenly held in a tight grip. He said, "Arianna, I'm right here!"
It was Hendrix's voice.
Hearing his voice, the fear and helplessness in my heart went away.
I wanted to nod, but I had no strength at all. I couldn't seem to even lift my eyelids.
"What's the matter? Why isn't she waking up yet?" Hendrix's question rang in my ears. I could imagine the way he was looking at the doctor with
a frown.
"She's already out of danger. There aren't any problems now. She's still sleeping because of the exhaustion, and she'll soon wake up after resting," the doctor said. I was wide awake, but I couldn't open my eyes, and I didn't have any energy.
I heard some footsteps in the room, probably someone leaving. After a while, I felt my hand being held, and my fingers were interlaced with another's.
There was a low voice beside my ear that said, "Arianna, you've been sleeping for two days already. Don't sleep anymore. Wake up!"
I wanted to say something and to open my eyes, but I couldn't, no matter what.
I felt a dampness on my dry lips, probably from a cotton swab. After a while, I felt that someone was wiping my face, hands, and feet with a wet towel.
I was too sleepy and I couldn't do anything but fall into a deep slumber again.
I kept having continuous dreams. When I opened my eyes again and gradually saw everything around me clearly, I was still in a state of confusion.
The man lying on the edge of the bed seemed to have fallen asleep, and his long dark hair was a little oily.
"Hendrix!" I opened my mouth. My voice was still hoarse, but it was good enough for me to be able to make a sound.
As soon as I said that, I couldn't help but let out a chuckle. I hadn't died, and I was still alive. That feeling was really good!
My hand was being tightly held, and Hendrix straightened his back. He looked particularly forlorn, and there was some stubble on his chin. I reached out my hand to touch it, and it pricked my fingers a little.
I let out a laugh, "I just shaved it for you. Why did it grow out so fast again?"
He held my hand and looked at me with his dark eyes. He failed to utter a word for a long time, seemingly overjoyed, and there were even tears in his eyes.
After a long while, he parted his lips and said in a voice choked with sobs, "You're finally awake!"
I nodded with a smile at the corner of my lips. It felt to me like I had survived a great disaster.
"How good it is for me to be able to see you again!" I grabbed him and held him tightly with my hands.
He got up and held me in his arms. He took a glass of water and helped me drink it. His voice was full of joy as he exclaimed, "You'll be able to see me every day from now on!"
After a few sips of water, I turned my head away, and I could move my body freely again. My throat felt much better, and I glanced at him as I said, "Then I will turn you into a little toy and keep you in my pockets. That way, I really would be able to see you every day."
Looking at my mischievous behavior, he put down the glass, raised his arm and poked my nose, saying, "If you're in a good enough mood to be joking around, you must really be all well."
He held me in his arms and couldn't help but tighten his embrace. He hugged my whole body without leaving even a bit of space.
