Chapter 1126

After a while, I heard Hendrix's deep voice. "She's asleep. I'll take her to her room. Wait for me!"

I nodded. "Okay!"

I yawned. I was really sleepy. Five minutes later, Hendrix's voice came through the phone again. "Are you very tired?"

I nodded even though he couldn't see me and answered, "A little bit!" I'd been busy all day.

"Have you washed up?"

I closed my eyes to rest and nodded again. "Yes!"

Sebastian and Naomi suddenly came to mind. I couldn't help but pause and ask, "Hendrix, when men can't perform, what should you do?"

There was a pause in his breathing on the other end of the line. After a moment of silence, he said, "can't perform?"

Then I realised that he might be reading too much into my question. I said, "Well, Sebastian and Naomi are dating, but Sebastian seems to have some past psychological trauma. What do you think he be doing about it?"

After all, men knew men best!

I could hear his smile through the phone, "It's his business. Why do you need to care so much? Don't think about it anymore. Go to bed early!"

I pouted and whined, "You're so boring!"

The person at the other end of the line smiled. "I'll come to Asherton tomorrow. What do you want to eat?"

I blurted out almost immediately, "Korean barbeque and Japanese food!"

The main reason was that Naomi kept talking about it last night, so it made me craved it.

Hendrix's laugh rang out. "Okay, go to bed early. Remember to close and lock the hotel's doors and windows."

I said, "Of course. You go to bed early too and I'll see you tomorrow!"

Hanging up the phone, I checked the locks, washed up, then fell asleep almost immediately.

The next day, Asherton's sunny skies greeted the day, with beautiful greenery adding to the pretty picture.

I felt exceptionally well-rested and relaxed after a good night's sleep.

I dealt with the affairs on the first floor of the base that morning. Then had a progression update meeting in the afternoon.

For the next few days, the Milton and Roberts companies would be working separately. Each partner would be taking care of their own projects. The base was largely completed, so there wasn't much left to do

After coming out of the hotel, Rowane and I planned our next steps. Personal differences aside, she was still a good work partner.

She suddenly stopped talking, and a bright smile appeared on her face. It was not her usual polite smile so she must've seen something she liked.

I quietly followed her gaze, and saw a man get out of a black Bentley parked at the entrance of the hotel. He was wearing a straight suit, and his gestures were confident.

No wonder!

As he walked up to me, I laughed out loud. Then, I ran up and threw myself into his arms. I said, "Didn't you say you'd arrive at night? Why are you here now?"

He raised his hand and touched the tip of my nose, and joked "Were you planning to finish both Korean barbeque and Japanese cuisine all at once?"

I shook my head. "Of course not!"

"Hendrix, can you help me take this?" A woman's soft voice called out from the Bentley.
