I sat beside Irvin's bed and glanced at my phone. There were no messages. I felt a little disappointed and let out a sigh. The next day.

In the morning, Florence came to check on Irvin. Since he was still asleep, Florence said that she would go downstairs to buy some food. There was a bed in the ward for me, but I felt uncomfortable on it, and was also on my period, hence I didn't sleep well once again. Now, I was feeling quite tired.

When Irvin woke up and noticed the dark circles under my eyes, he asked, "Did you stay up the whole night again?"

I shook my head and said with a faint smile, "No, I'm just worried about you. I will be fine if you get better quickly."

He frowned slightly and tried to get up. I gently pushed him back down and said, "You can't move now. The wound has just been stitched. It's easy to cause injury a second time, and it might leave after effects, so take care of it."

Fortunately, he was obedient and continued to lie

down. Florence returned with some plain oatmeal. Irvin could only have oatmeal after the operation. However, perhaps his wound was making him uncomfortable, hence he did not eat much of it. Instead, he looked at me worriedly, "There's someone here to take care of me. Don't worry, go home and have a good sleep. The weather is getting cold and if your immunity is low, you will fall sick easily!"

I smiled faintly and nodded, "Okay, I get it!"

After chatting for a while, he fell asleep again.

I pondered on the fact that I would be staying there for a few days, and it was almost the autumn holiday season. Hence, I decided to go back to the villa to pack up my things.

And I should go at once.

Initially, I thought that Hendrix would be in the villa. However, when I went in to pack up my clothes, I noticed that a batch of his frequently worn outfits had disappeared. It was obvious that he had left. But to where I had no idea.

It did not feel pleasant...

After packing up some of my usual clothes and daily necessities, I returned back to the hospital. There was still about three to four days' time before the autumn holiday season.

A few days' time would not be enough for Irvin to recover from his injuries. It seemed that I would not be able to return to Jarold City for the holiday.

When I returned to the hospital, I had asked Sebastian for a leave, so I could stay in the hospital to take care of Irvin. I had not much to do, except chat with him. Occasionally, I would help him with some physiotherapy.

The Lancille Village case had come to a rest, and the remaining work had been handed over to Linda.

Hence, I spent most of my time in the hospital with Irvin.

On the fourth day, he was able to walk a few steps. He was in a good mood and took the initiative to say that he wanted to peel an apple himself. For the past few days, due to his rib injury, his whole arm had been numb and could not move.

Because of that, he felt a little depressed since he couldn't exert force on his arm. Now that he could move, he was overjoyed.

The mobile phone on the bedside table rang again. But he just glanced at it lightly and then pushed it away, ignoring it.

That's the only number he hadn't answered in the past few days. Of course, I had seen the name on the screen. It was Shirley!

"She must be worried about you. You should at least tell her that you're fine!" I said as I looked at Irvin.

His hand paused as he peeled the apple. He looked at me and pursed his lips, "Is it because of her?"
