My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) -
Chapter 1200
Nothing else could explain why CBU had silently released their Al technology. No one in their right mind would've kept such excellent technology so obscure. It was clearly illogical.
Hendrix's voice drifted the door. "Okay, find someone to make a statement saying that if this batch of Al does not have the core technology, they won't be able to produce the next batch for a while. Also, release the news about the theft of our assets in Asherton. List out all the things that we were going to exhibit at the time."
Evan hummed his assent and after keeping silent for a while, he said, "By the way, regarding Mrs. Roberts being injured today, I have already contacted all the people in charge of the various major media outlets in the city. There were cameras at the entrance of Roberts Group. They've promised that they will not hire the reporters who went near or hurt Mrs. Roberts."
"Okay!"
After Hendrix's simple reply, it fell silent. It seemed that Evan had already left the office.
I changed my clothes and applied more ointment to my legs and hands. I felt better then.
Hendrix was working at his desk when I walked out of the lounge. He immediately looked up at me when he heard me walking out. Then, he smiled and asked, "Do your wounds still hurt?"
I shook my head and replied, "It doesn't hurt anymore. It's nothing serious."
After hesitating for a moment, I finally opened my mouth and asked, "What will happen to those reporters today?"
He stopped writing and looked at me seriously. "All the media and TV stations in Jarold City will never hire them again," He replied lightly and almost emotionlessly.
I nodded slightly but didn't express my opinion too much. It was not easy to get to a certain level in Jarold City's media industry. Those reporters who had immediately rushed to the scene to interview such a prominent person in Jarold City were not mere nobodies. They had probably worked their way up to such a position.
Now, all their hard work would be completely overwritten by a single sentence, which meant that their bright futures were ruined. Those reporters must be extremely angry and unhappy.
I originally came to check on Hendrix, but seeing that he was so calm, I guessed that he must have a plan to deal with it. After thinking for a moment,
I asked, "Hendrix, is someone deliberately stirring up trouble for you?"
He raised his eyebrows and poured me a glass of water. Instead of answering his question, he asked, "Did you come here because you are worried about me?"
I was blinked at his question, but I still nodded seriously and replied, "Yes!"
Upon hearing that, a smile crept up the side of his mouth. He said happily, "Don't worry, I'm fine."
I was relieved upon seeing him like this. "That's good. The Milton family is also involved in the Lancille Village project, but there doesn't seem to be any movement in the Milton family."
I originally thought that the investigation would not be so thorough, but when I was downstairs just now, the reporters clearly knew that the Milton Group was also involved in the Lancille Village project. However, in that case, why there was no movement in the Milton family?
He put down the pen in his hand gently. After remaining silent for a moment, he finally said, "Take it easy. We have plenty of time."
I felt that there was a deeper meaning behind his casual words. I wanted to ask him, but I held back. When I thought about how I still had to take Anne to the hospital, I looked toward Hendrix and said, "It seems that there is nothing I can do to help you with the company. I'll take Anne to the hospital later. My mother said that she had been having a fever lately, and asked me to take her."
He nodded and said, "Okay, let's go home together at night. Is there anything in particular that you would like to eat?"
