My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) -
Chapter 1282
He was talking about Dahlia. I was stunned for a moment, but I still didn't understand what he meant. What did he mean that Dahlia abducted me halfway? I interrupted, "You're saying, Dahlia and Kaleb joined forces to drug me?"
He nodded. "After you were drugged, it was Kaleb who brought you into the elevator. But after bringing you out of the elevator, it was Dahlia who took over. Their plan was to let Dahlia take you to a hidden place and let you sleep for a few days so that I wouldn't have the energy to take care of Lancille Village. But no one expected that Dahlia would send you to the morgue, and no one thought that I would be able to save you."
I was stunned for a few seconds before I realized what he meant. I couldn't help frowning and looked at him and said, "Dahlia brought me here today to threaten you about suing Sebastian, but haven't you already contacted the police and the lawyer? Can you even stop the legal process now?"
He nodded. "Before the police report is made, everything can still be changed. Today is the last day. They understood that."
I stayed silent for a while. Then I said, "But isn't Kaleb dead? Dahlia was with me all day today. She couldn't have threatened you. Who else would be involved in this?"
He raised his hand to touch my zipper, puffing warm air into my ear. He said in a low and hoarse voice, "I haven't figured this out yet!"
Realizing that he was going to kiss me, I avoided him and asked, "How is Sebastian today? Are you going to leave him be?"
He reached out and pulled me into his arms, saying in a low voice, "Yes!"
I frowned. "He almost killed you. How can you let him go so easily?."
He said yes. Afraid that I would move away again, he directly put his legs on my waist, and his hands started touching me everywhere. I opened my eyes wide and raised my hand to push him away. "Hendrix, you are a brute!"
"You and I are a married couple. I am no such person!" His voice was a little hoarse. I pressed my lips together and pushed him away gently. Then I distanced myself from him and said, "I can't. I'm too sleepy." Recently, I wanted to sleep a lot and didn't want to exercise.
He hugged me, and his body was scorching hot. I pursed my lips and said, "Hendrix, restrain yourself. I'm really tired, don't even think about it!"
He answered with a hum and said, "Let me do the work!"
That night, I felt a little reluctant. Hendrix tried a few times and then stopped. He held me in his arms and said, "When you have time, let's go to the hospital!"
I was so sleepy that I answered drowsily.
The next day.
The weather was not very good. I had been in Asherton for half a month now. Valerie called and said that Anne got sick easily, so she wouldn't be bringing her outdoors very often.
Jarold City was too cold, plus, Anne was delivered prematurely. We had been living in Hovell all these years, in the south. The weather was just right, so she rarely got ill. In the past two years, we'd lived in the capital and with the climate changes, she fell sick much more often. After all, she needed some time to adapt.
Hendrix was about to leave the house. Noticing that I was calling Valerie, he said, "This afternoon will be the Roberts' tender fair. It's at the Greenland Hotel. You have to come with me."
I hung up the phone, frowned, and said, "Can I not go? I don't even participate in events like this.
What you are going to bid on now is a well established construction company. Let the project go on, or Rowane would have spend the past two years in vain."
