My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) -
Chapter 1311
I hesitated for a moment, "What if the Milton family finds out they were deceived after opening the box?"
He gives me a faint smile and replied, "The box that Sebastian took is fake. It can't be opened. But it's true that he won't let us go because of this. We surely can't get rid of him troubling us in the future."
I couldn't help sighing. "Frankly speaking, the ultimate goal of the Milton family is money. They have long been rich for so many years now. Why are they still so obsessed with money?"
Before I knew it, the car arrived at the Reid Family's courtyard. The courtyard was ablaze with lights, the housekeeper and several servants standing there. I stopped the car and passed my car keys to the valet. They led me into the villa after greeting us.
Dinner had already been prepared in the hall, though Charles seemed to be the only one there.
"Little Arianna is here, quick. The food has just been served. Quickly take your seats." Charles came forward and smiled at us.
After greeting him, I looked around and realized that Aaron had not arrived yet. So I asked, "Hasn't Aaron arrived yet?"
"He is on his way here. We don't need to wait for him. Let's eat first." Charles asked us to sit down, and then ordered for the food to be served.
However, not long after he sat down, the sound of the car engine came from outside. Charles snorted and said, "This devil has impeccable timing. He only comes home during mealtime."
As he said this, Aaron's voice came from outside, "Vo, you came so early. I thought both of you would not arrive until 7 or 8pm. I didn't expect you to arrive so early."
I looked up and couldn't help frowning when I saw who was standing next to him.
Charles' unhappy voice came to our ears, "B*stard, get the hell out of here."
"Uncle Charles, how can you do this to me? Do you have any idea how busy I've been recently? You called me here, but you don't allow me to come in, and instead tell me to leave. What's the point then?" Aaron glanced at Eunice, who was standing next to him, and told her, "Eunice, send your gift to Uncle Charles to appease his anger."
Eunice held the box in her hand with a smile on her face. She tried to look sensible and clever. She faced Charles and said, "Nice to meet you, Uncle.
Aaron mentioned that you like to drink coffee. I have some preserved coffee beans from my friend. It's the best coffee beans on the market. You can have a taste in your spare time. I hope you like it."
As she spoke, she handed over a box of coffee beans to Charles. The smile on her face was prim and well-mannered, and her temperament and etiquette were quite polite like well-educated young ladies.
It seemed that she had learnt a lot from Jarold City's socialites after all these years. If I hadn't seen her as a mess in that bar many years ago, I would have mistaken her for the daughter of a wealthy and noble family.
Time was a good thing. It made her grow up so well.
Charles didn't pick up the gift, but gazed at Aaron with his steady eyes. He asked in a low voice, "What do you mean by this?"
Aaron shrugged his shoulders casually and spoke, "Since she's giving you a present, you should accept it. If you want to teach me a lesson, you'd better wait after dinner. You can slap me again if there's no one around. Don't lose your temper and ruin everyone's mood."
