My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) -
Chapter 1329
If he didn't mention it, I would have forgotten about it. So I couldn't help saying, "Your coat is worth ten thousand dollars, yet you throw it away whenever you want. You are really spoiled. You can still earn ten thousand dollars if you sell it to a second-hand store, such a spender!"
He opened his eyes slightly and looked at me with a faint smile. "Since when did you become so miserly? Are you starting to feel sorry for this coat?"
I lay on his shoulder and said helplessly, "What can I do? Anne is about to undergo her operation. It's not easy for you to earn money. I have to save more money for you to reduce your burden."
He looked up and kissed me on the cheek. He said with a faint smile, "Don't worry. Even if your husband is dead, you will never have to worry about money your whole life."
Hearing him curse himself, I hit his head with my forehead and uttered, "Don't talk nonsense. Don't curse yourself before this baby comes out. I don't want to remarry with my two children in the future." He put me down in his lap and said helplessly,
"Your husband is still alive, and you're already thinking of remarrying. You'd better put this idea aside, otherwise you will be spanked at night."
I rolled my eyes at him and leaned against his chest, saying, "We have to take good care of our children in the future. After they've grown up, we will go back to Ucrebury. I want to run a small flower shop. You can work for me, and we can go home to visit my parents during the new year."
Thinking of this, I couldn't help but laugh. I looked at him and continued, "I find that I don't seem to have any ambition. I want to retire at such a young age. Will you still like me?"
He smiled and put his lips on my face. Then he laid a hand on my belly and said, "Your dream is my dream. When we grow old, we can live out our old age in the same way you said."
It seemed that after a certain age, people just wanted to live a stable and peaceful life, and did not want to suffer anymore.
Thinking of Josiah's matters, I looked at him and said, "How did Josiah get hurt in prison? Did my father find someone to do it?"
He shook his head. "No, if Mr. Moore wants to fight, he'll do it once. He won't fight twice. It's a drug addict in prison. He fought with others and got crazy, so Josiah was hurt by him."
I nodded and looked at him. "Is the Saunders family still trying to find someone to break him out of prison?" After Josiah went in, the Saunders family had put a lot of money into bribing the people in the prison. They must've intended to get him out as soon as possible.
Hendrix did not answer my question. Instead, he looked at me seriously and asked, "What if he comes out?"
Looking at him, I frowned. "Are you going to get him out of there too?" I was only afraid of Josiah at first, but now after the events of last year, I hated him with every ounce of my being. I could understand Hendrix's hatred and unwillingness towards him.
He'd hurt his own child. It didn't matter if it was on purpose or unintentionally. He could not hide that disgusting side of him.
Hendrix did not answer directly but said, "We need him for Anne's bone marrow. I asked him to come out and do a matching."
I frowned. "I agree, but I don't want him to come out."
He held me in his arms and didn't say anything more. He carried me to the second floor. Probably because of my pregnancy, I always felt sleepy recently.
So I fell asleep soon after I went to bed.
The next day before dawn, Valerie called me on phone. She told me in alarm that after Anne's chemotherapy session was completed, she began bleeding again for no reason.
