John glared at me. "You called the police?"

I nodded. Seeing how Susan was gradually giving up struggling, I uttered, "You'd better get her out of there, or you'll be going to jail!"

He burst into fits of laughter, and stared at me. He said arrogantly, "Listen, this b*tch said that I am going to jail? What a joke, this is the first time in my life I heard someone tell me that I'm getting into trouble." The people standing around the tank also chuckled. I pursed my lips, feeling a little confused.

The man suddenly opened his mouth and ordered, "Get her out of the tank and throw this woman in instead. I don't give a f*ck who she is. If the police comes, tell them that I am here. If they don't know who I am, then ask them to speak to Oscar."

"Yes, John!"

Susan was pulled out of the tank, but she was already unconscious. I rushed over to check on her but before I could make sure she was alright, I was dragged by two men and hurled into the tank. I choked on the water, with my head being pressed down forcefully into the water.

I drank a few mouthfuls of icy-cold water and felt a sharp pain in my throat. I wanted to breathe, but I choked every time I tried to open my mouth and my throat felt extremely painful. I cried out for help.

I tried to ask for help but I was overwhelmed by the two men. I couldn't even force out a single word. I drank a few mouthfuls of water and my entire body was in agonizing pain. My tummy started cramping. My eyes widened in disbelief as I realized that it must've been the baby.

I could hear vague screams. "She is bleeding, she is bleeding..."

I felt a buzz in my head. My child....

The man's laughter came. "Interesting. I didn't expect to come across a pregnant woman tonight. Very amusing..."

Intense pain and suffocation made me lose consciousness, and my body gradually lost strength.

Sometimes, death was just in an instant. Somehow, I felt like I was in a dream. I started spiraling down into darkness and I could vaguely hear someone talking to me, but I couldn't tell what they were saying. I felt like I was running in circles in the pitch black world of my subconscious, unable to escape.

All of a sudden, I woke up and discovered that everything was white. It was only after some time that I realized that I was in a hospital. I was still a little dazed. I looked around at my surroundings, but even this small motion caused my body to feel a sharp pain, as if it had been torn apart.

My body throbbed from all the pain it was experiencing. I couldn't help but let out a soft whimper.

There were hurried footsteps, and then I heard someone say, "She's awake, she's awake, quick, call the doctor!" It wasn't a familiar voice.

I was in a new environment. My eyes fell on the girl who had shouted for the doctor just now. It was Susan. She was fine!

Her eyes reddened when she saw me. She said, "You're finally awake. You're finally awake."

I opened my mouth, wanting to speak, but my throat hurt so much that I couldn't even force out a single word. Then a group of people came in, consisting of Valerie, Pedro and Evan. I was relieved when I realized Hendrix was not here. Judging from what Susan said, I guessed that I had been unconscious for a very long time.

Valerie held onto me, her eyes started to water. I squeezed her arm and shook my head slightly, indicating that everything was fine and that she didn't have to worry.
