My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) -
Chapter 1459
I decided not to continue following Dahlia anymore, so I simply went straight back home.
Lying on the bed, I kept recalling the things that happened recently. I felt like my efforts were all for nothing. In the end, I was being strung along anyway, making me even more annoyed.
It was that moment when Yana called, reminding me of her wedding in Jarold City. I'd almost forgotten about this, with the hectic schedule that I had. I then sent her a message to confirm my attendance. Looking at the calendar, the wedding was in two days.
After giving it a second thought, I decided to head to Jarold City to attend Yana's wedding before coming back here to investigate Dahlia's case. I then quickly booked a flight ticket back to Jarold City. Two days later.
Yana's wedding was held in Ethan's hometown, located in a suburb that wasn't far from the capital of Jarold City. Even though it wasn't a long journey, I had to call up my friends to find out how to get there, and find out about any customs so that I would not accidentally offend anyone.
In a cafe located in the city center, Yana was overjoyed when she saw me. She said with a dazzling smile on her face, "Why were you in Asherton for so long? Ethan has been annoying me for the past few days and I had no way to escape."
I found it funny and said, "Isn't it a good thing, to have him by your side every day? Why are you bothered by it?"
Yana then curled her lips, stood up and gave me a twirl. Her sudden movement caught the attention of the people all around us, so Yana sat down again, giving me an embarrassed look. "Can't you see how fa I've gotten? Ethan's been feeding me like a piglet!"
At that point, I couldn't stop laughing. After a while, I stared at her seriously. "Don't you know that you look absolutely beautiful right now? As a woman, even I can't get my eyes off you. You look absolutely radiant!"
Hearing my words, Yana gave me a roll of her eyes and said angrily, "Go ahead and make fun of me. I'm about to get married, but I've gained weight. What if I can't fit into the wedding gown? I can't ask Ethan's mother to adjust the size when the gown's as expensive and embroidered as it is. I get really angry whenever I think about it. All I want to do now is to move out of that house and lose some weight before the wedding!"
Hearing her complaints, I smirked a little. I then smiled faintly as I thought to myself, "How wonderful it would be if everyone could live such a happy life like this."
After a long rant, Yana then received an incoming call from Ethan. She picked up the call and began another round of ranting. On the other end of the line, Ethan patiently listened to her complaining. Meanwhile, I looked around with my chin propped up in my hand. Suddenly, I caught sight of a familiar figure that left me stunned for a moment.
Due to my short-sightedness, I wasn't sure if that was the person I thought she was. I squinted my eyes to get a better look, but I still wasn't sure. Hence, I tugged on Yana's sleeve and pointed in the direction of that person.
Yana went completely silent as soon as she looked towards the pointed direction. She then said to Ethan on the phone, "Ethan, I ran into someone I know. I'll hang up for now!"
She hung up the call and dragged me out of the cafe as she asked, "Was that Andrea?"
I nodded promptly but shook my head after, as I wasn't sure.
We went out of the cafe but watched from a distance without taking a step further.
As Jarold City was a place full of opulence and prosperity, the pace of the people here was also quick and lively. Thus, no one would even pay attention to a woman who was asking for money without dignity from a man in the middle of the street.
