He smiled. "That's right!" He looked at me and asked, "Didn't you have your dinner already?"

I laughed and said, "Yes, I did. I ate a little, but I didn't have much of an appetite. So I bought some snacks on the way back. But then, I bought them mostly because they are tasty."

He said helplessly, "Snacks are not good for your health. You will have to..." Before he could say more, I stuffed another handful of snacks into his mouth and stopped him. I then said, "I know snacks are not healthy, and I know I can't have too much of them. This is my first snack of the day, so stop worrying about me!"

I could hear him laughing faintly. He then said, "I see you haven't been eating well during my absence. You're looking thinner!"

I tilted my head and smiled at him. I asked, "By the way, when are you going back to Oakland again? How is the situation over there? What happened to Sebastian?"

He was focusing on his driving, and his dark eyes narrowed slightly. He said, "I'll go back after Yana's wedding, and you'll continue to stay here in Jarold City and take care of yourself."

I pursed my lips. I noticed that ever since the incident, he seemed to always remind me to take good care of my health, every time we had a conversation.

She said over the phone, "Arianna, aren't you coming back tonight? Where are you now? I can ask your father to pick you up."

"It's okay, I'm with Hendrix. We might not go back tonight," I said.

She hummed for a while before asking, "Why is he back suddenly? How are things back in Oakland? Your dad heard from Mr. Lawson that the Milton family is not easy to deal with, so why is Hendrix back so soon?"

I took a deep breath, clearly not at ease. I relaxed a little before replying, "Yana's wedding is coming up. He didn't want me to attend alone. You don't have to worry. He knows what he's doing."
