I had never seen Hendrix being this heartless before. I was still in a daze, and so was Andrea. She stared at Hendrix, dumbfounded. I guessed she had never expected Hendrix to be this harsh. Andrea couldn't come back to her senses for a long time. Meanwhile, Hendrix took my hand and we walked out through the iron grille door.

The officer in charge followed behind us. He was all smiles as he said, "Mr. Roberts, about Miss Burton..."

"Just follow the procedure. You don't need to contact me about her matters in the future. I'll wire all the expenses into your account. Don't contact me anymore about her matters, even if she is dying," Hendrix said. He sounded cold and heartless. It was as if he never knew Andrea at all.

When he heard this, the police officer didn't say anything in response. He sent us off with a face full of smiles.

In the car. Hendrix grasped my hands in his and sighed slightly as he said, "Your hands are so cold. Why didn't you listen to me when I told you to wait in the car?"

Although he was telling me off, it didn't feel that way at all. I tilted my head to look at him. I smiled faintly and replied, "I was reminded of something and I wanted to tell you about it, so I went inside, but I didn't expect to see Andrea in there!"

If I had known he came all the way to the police station because of her, I would have rushed in earlier to give her a good scolding.

He placed my hand on his stomach. I was taken aback. Was he trying to keep me warm like this? But...

Seeing that I was taken aback, he smiled and asked, "Is it warm enough?"

Sure enough, I liked touching his stomach, and it indeed was warm. Although we have been married for years, I was still a little shy to do this.

He looked at me and asked gently, "What did you want to tell me? Is it something interesting?"

He was looking at me expectantly, and I paused a little. I thought of what I was about to say, and I got a little hesitant. I looked at him and said, "After we go to Yana's wedding, I want to see a doctor, will you come with me?"

He gave me a puzzled look and immediately, he sounded worried. "What's the matter? Did you have an accident somewhere? Or are you not feeling well?"

I shook my head. "No, I just...I want to do a checkup. You're always asking me to take good care of my health, aren't you?"

He was startled by my response, but after a moment, he smiled. "Sure!"

Now that my hand was already warm enough, I withdrew it. He frowned. "What's wrong?"

I smiled and said, "I feel warm enough already. Let's go home!"

We couldn't spend the whole night just sitting in the car, could we?

He smiled and started the car.

Looking at the city lights through the window, I didn't have the courage to bring up my idea about undergoing IVF. Now that we were finally together, after having been through everything in the past year, I was already lucky enough to have him in my life. Having a child was just the cherry on top. After experiencing a couple of miscarriages, I really couldn't summon enough courage to get pregnant again. It could even be said that I had never pictured myself being pregnant again. Thus, an IVF seemed to be the only alternative.

I was amused that I was thinking about this. I had never once imagined I would even consider it.
