My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) -
Chapter 1661
It had been too long since someone talked to Elijah like this. Anger appeared on his face. He gritted his teeth, glared at Aaron, and turned to leave.
After just two steps, Elijah suddenly stopped, turned his head, and looked at me before he left.
"Humph." Aaron suddenly snorted. "Do you really think that the city is under the control of the Forbes family? How dare you provoke my family. Prepare for chaos for the rest of your life!"
"Enough, Aaron, he's gone." I didn't want to let his hatred grow at this time. At least for now, what Elijah was capable of was far beyond our imagination. Many things were not clear, and it was not good to cause unnecessary trouble.
Aaron shut his mouth sulkily. After exchanging a look with me, he gave Hendrix an angry look and then unwillingly went upstairs to leave the room to us.
Minnie hadn't seen me for a long time. She was busy in the kitchen, and she came out with soup. "Mrs. Roberts, have some soup!"
Sometimes, I really envied Minnie. She could be happy easily.
I took the soup with a smile and said, "Madam Parker, I have something to talk about with Hendrix. You may go out first and don't let anyone else disturb us."
Minnie replied, "Oh, okay, you guys talk. I'll prepare other healthy foods for you. You haven't been home these days, how can I take care of you? Please don't leave again this time. I have to take care of the children in your belly!"
"Alright, you may leave now." Hendrix cut Minnie off and chased her out.
When Minnie left, Hendrix took the soup from my hands and fed it to me carefully.
His noble and cold face was close. He looked so gentle and everything was in peace. I really hoped that everything that happened during the day was just a nightmare.
Halfway through the soup, Hendrix broke the silence. "Go ahead and ask whatever you want."
In order to get to the bottom of the matter, I asked without hesitation, "You knew that the Milton family framed your parents?"
"Yes." Hendrix answered very quickly. He didn't hesitate at all.
"You knew my grandma is a member of the Milton family?" My heart was wrenched and my breathing stopped.
"At first, I didn't know." Hendrix calmly pushed the spoon to my lips and looked at my mouth. "Later, I had more resources, and the information I could find was more detailed. Then I knew everything." These things were not much different from what Charles said, which tugged at my heart.
I opened my mouth and said, "Did my grandma really plan everything? Do you hate me?"
Hendrix's hand paused. He turned around and placed the bowl of soup on the coffee table in front of him. He looked straight ahead with a deep gaze. "What do you want me to say?"
Having a bad feeling in the heart, I frowned and said, "I want you to tell me the truth."
Even if the truth was cruel, I didn't want to be kept in the dark.
"I did hate you," he confessed.
An electric current flashed through my mind and I subconsciously clenched my fists.
However, Hendrix continued, "At first, all the information led to your grandmother. She arrived in Ucrebury ahead of time and confused the Roberts family. The Milton family lied to our parents and signed the contract, and then there was a car accident. At the funeral, I heard with my own ears what my grandfather and your grandmother said. They knew the Milton family had secretly developed oil and reg reted that they didn't remind my parents. When my mother died, she was just found to have a baby in her belly. She was dead, and I have no parents, no brothers, and no sisters. What's the use of regret?"
