"Yes." Hendrix nodded. "He kidnapped her and tried to assault her. I couldn't bear it and broke his arms."

"He deserved it!" Valerie's face suddenly changed and said angrily, "I thought Hendrix was blinded by hatred and being impulsive since the Forbes family had that attitude. Turns out that b*stard was the one who started this. They couldn't win in business, but they had the audacity to blame us instead!"

She was so angry that her chest started to churn. She got up and sat beside me. She held my hand and frowned. "Arianna, that b*stard didn't hurt you, did he?" "No." I shook my head and forced a smile, indicating to her not to worry.

Although she was overprotective, she was not exactly flawed. She would have been a good mother if it had not been for the accidental mistakes between us.
