My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) -
Chapter 1694
The escaping nurse and bodyguard had played their cards well. They changed flights in between and went somewhere else. Freya had spent a lot of manpower and material resources to bring them back to the city in two weeks, and had them imprisoned in the Reid Manor's basement. Compared to the crazy way I was at the beginning, I was much calmer now.
The man, who had been tied up and beaten black and blue, and was now kneeling on the ground, was the bodyguard who had taken the child away at that time. Aaron's guards had interrogated him for a day and a night, but they did not get any useful information.
I looked coldly at the bodyguard, who was dying. The smell of blood rushed to my nose, but I was calm.
Aaron stepped forward, grabbed the man's hair, and forced him to face us. Then he moved his face closer to the man's face with a cold smile. "Tell me the child's whereabouts, or die. Choose one."
One of the bodyguards' eyes was so swollen that he couldn't open his eyes. The blood on his forehead flowed down and he looked a little horrible. He gasped in a low voice and slowly opened his eyes. His eyes met mine.
I'd seen people who were at the end of their rope, but this bodyguard was different. When he saw me, he unexpectedly smiled.
He obviously knew something.
Aaron also saw what he'd done, and he scoffed. He punched the bodyguard's belly. The guard groaned in pain, and had no strength to lift his head up.
A moment later, his bloody saliva fell to the ground, and the smell of blood in the basement became stronger.
Aaron saw that the bodyguard had stopped moving. He took out the handkerchief from his pocket and wiped off the blood stains on his hands.
Aaron's men approached the bodyguard. They reached out and felt his breath, and then gave a signal. Someone brought a large bucket of cold water and poured it directly on the bodyguard's head. "Argh!" The cold pain made the bodyguard raise his head and open his mouth in horror.
"Continue with this until he speaks." Aaron threw away the cloth from his pocket, looked down at me and said indifferently, "Let's go. You are still resting, and you can't stay in such a cold place for too long." Somehow, at this moment, the miserable scene of Matt's broken hand flashed in my mind.
I stood up obediently. The next second, I went straight to the bodyguard and stared at him for two seconds. I snatched the dagger from Aaron's men, and plunged it into the bodyguard's chest without hesitation The bright, red blood came out of the blade, and the bodyguard opened his eyes wide in disbelief, looking at me as if this was unexpected. I finally saw fear in his eyes.
"Where is the child?" I held the dagger tightly and pushed it forward bit by bit.
Hendrix had taught me this. If threatening couldn't get him to speak up, I must make him feel sharp pain and the lingering fear of death as deeply as possible.
The bodyguard frowned tightly. As he moved, a scarlet color soaked his pale lips, and blood gushed out from his trembling body. He was afraid and begged for mercy with his eyes, but I did not do anything. Aaron probably wanted me to vent. He looked at me for a long time until the bodyguard started to roll his eyes upward. Then he suddenly realized something and rushed to pull me away. "Are you crazy?" I looked up expressionlessly as if my soul had been lost. When I saw Aaron's frightened and angry expression, I had nothing to say.
Aaron gritted his teeth and showed a rare look of impatience at me. The blue veins on his forehead bulged. We stared at each other for more than ten seconds before he turned around. He shouted at his subordinates next to him, "Why are you standing there? If he's dead, he can't tell us anything! And I'll make sure all of you end up just like him!"
