However, before Serene could respond, Milleon's father, Mr. Bache's birthday came up first.

Milleon had already sent the invitation to the Reid family and stated very clearly that he would like to invite every single member of the Reid family to attend. Charles found an excuse to refuse the invitation as a result of his identity, so only Aaron, Emma, and I were to attend the party.

The Koch family had outshone the X-Forbes Group in the lawsuit. Word got out, so all the business people and celebrities in Jarold city warmed up to them again. The place was very lively. When we arrived at the party, we saw everyone having a good time chatting happily with Milleon.

"Yoo-hoo, Miss Reid!" Just as we entered the room, Milleon saw us and left his guests to welcome us, "Those of you at the door, why didn't any of you inform me that my important guests had arrived? I'm so sorry that I didn't notice you sooner."

"You must be Mr. Reid, correct? Mr. Levin and Miss Reid talk about you all the time. You have an extraordinary aura about you!"

He then ignored Aaron's cold look and firmly shook his hand with a flattering smile.

Aaron wasn't snobbish tonight. Knowing that I had a good impression of Milleon, he didn't lose his temper and responded politely, "Mr. Koch, you're too kind. Today is Mr. Bache's birthday, yes? My Uncle Charles was going to visit him but got bogged down with official duties, so he couldn't attend and has asked me to send his regards to Mr. Bache on his behalf. Tell him that Charles wishes him a long and blissful life. Since there are so many people around, we won't interrupt him."

"Mr. Reid, there's no need to be so courteous. I'll be sure to convey your well wishes to him. You guys should have fun tonight!" Milleon laughed as he quietly scanned his surroundings. He then lowered his voice and whispered to us, "It's very tiring to entertain these guests. If you're tired, please leave from the side door. I've specially prepared a private room for all of you. Once the party is over, you can come out and talk!"

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at his rather direct favor for us. For such a rough-looking man, I didn't expect him to be so thoughtful.

However, the Koch family was the main star of the night. As soon as he finished speaking, another guest arrived.

"Mr. Koch!" The man, along with his family, shook hands with Milleon and greeted him. Then, his gaze fell on Aaron and me, "Is this Mr. and Miss Reid? I've heard a lot about the both of you."

"I'm flattered." I smiled and nodded. Then I directed the subject back to Milleon without anyone noticing. "Mr. Koch, we won't keep you from your guests."

Without waiting for his reply, I exchanged glances with Aaron and Emma and walked away.

Just as we left, a huge crowd immediately swarmed around Milleon. The guests surrounded him and engaged in cheerful chatter.

Aaron stopped a passing waiter and asked for three glasses of champagne. He handed them to me and Emma respectively, saying, "I didn't expect Milleon to be such a big shot in Jarold City. What a pity that I've never crossed paths with him."

"The Koch family has developed tremendously in recent years." Emma raised her glass and took a sip. She calmly explained, "The Koch family is a rather strange one. Three generations of their family, one after another, won the lottery and became rich. Ordinary people could only envy their incredible luck."

"Too risky for my taste," Aaron said disapprovingly.

Emma rolled her eyes and said, "Does Milleon look like a fool to you?"

"Say what you want. No need to be so enigmatic." Aaron said with a long face.

He'd been acting like this recently. Every time he confronted Emma, he would inevitably get snubbed.

Emma ignored him and looked at me as though she could ignore him, "Don't think for a moment that there aren't any people in the Koch family with street smarts. They're made some amazing investments. Whatever they buy stocks or investments... Everything they bought increase in price. After all these years, they haven't lost a single penny, and have doubled their assets!"

I didn't listen to the specifics, but I understood her point.

Milleon wasn't some random idiot, he was a man with the golden touch!
