Upon hearing his words, I suddenly felt that the man in front of me was a stranger. His eyes were brimming with determination and he was carrying himself with the utmost confidence. This wasn't the lan I used to know.

Although I was surprised by the change in his behavior, I wasn't able to give him any constructive opinion. However, an eye for an eye was a natural response to what had taken place. In the past, lan had always been a gentle soul and was used to being a pushover. After being taken advantage of for such a long time, it was time to get back what he deserved.

It seemed that the coma did do him good after all.

lan had hoped to gain my support for his goal. We had been friends for over ten years, so my unconditional agreement was unsurprising. I had planned to lend him some of my existing funds as his start-up capital, but aside from a promise, he did not ask for anything else. Since it was not my place to keep pressing on the matter, I quickly forgot about it.

When I came out of the villa, I felt as if a great load of burden had been lifted off me. I felt carefree and light.

I looked at the sun outside the car window and felt warmth all over. I shielded my face from the harsh rays and gushed, "It's such a nice day today." "Indeed it is," Aaron replied.

As he said that, our car approached a crossroad. Suddenly, Aaron turned the wheel so that our car moved in the opposite direction from home.

"We're not going home?" I asked, a little anxious. I just wanted to get to the basement of the hospital as soon as possible.

"No, no, no," Aaron repeated nonchalantly without looking at me, "How can there be only one good news on such an amazing day? We're heading to our next stop!"

I frowned. There was nothing I could do about the situation.

I wasn't skilled in martial arts and I couldn't walk through walls. I could only follow him wherever he went.

The drive was supposed to be

relaxing and happy, but I felt far from those feelings. I couldn't help but feel that all this was a waste of time and I could barely sit still. It didn't take much longer for me to give in to my urge to call Hendrix.

The call went through for a moment before it was cut off again. I seemed to have called him at an inconvenient time again.

I stared at the call log for a few seconds before clicking into WhatsApp, leaving him a message. I typed, "Call me once you're free. It's urgent."

Since Hendrix hadn't returned my calls, I felt uneasy as Aaron drove us to the airport.

When we arrived, I got out of the car reluctantly, still feeling dazed and puzzled.

Aaron sauntered through the automatic doors and then realized that I was not following him. He threw his hands up and stared at me strangely. "Let's go. The plane is about to land."

"Don't you know that you've delayed

something very important to me?

You'd better make sure that the

person we're picking up is worth it or

I will not let you off the hook

barked, crossing my arms in front of

me.

Aaron lowered his head and smiled faintly. A few moments later, he walked around me and pushed me forward by my shoulders, "Have I ever let you down?" He chuckled.

Fifteen minutes passed and my patience ran thin. I pointed at the number on the screen and showed it to Aaron. "It's almost one in the afternoon. Who on earth are we waiting for?" I demanded. Just then, someone patted me on the shoulder. "Arianna, I'm back."

I turned around and saw a beautiful lady before me. She was tall and had on a pair of sunglasses. My eyes widened as I took in the dress she wore. It exposed her pale back and slim waist, but in an elegant way. She looked both sensual and expensive.

When she took off her glasses, I hugged her immediately after recognizing who she was. "Freya! It's really you! The injury on your back has recovered perfectly!" I cried out excitedly.
