My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) -
Chapter 1875
Hendrix was like a pill of reassurance. He dispelled the elements that were looking for opportunities to attack him.
Serene, who had been watching coldly from the sidelines, found an opportunity to speak, "Cancel all collaborative ties? Hendrix, are you saying you're going to cut ties with me too?"
Since his revenge had turned into the joke of the decade, the Forbes family was no longer the mortal enemy of Hendrix. To some extent, Hendrix was indeed sorry for Serene. Regardless of how successful a woman was in her career, she would not be tolerant of any deception.
She waited for Hendrix's explanation. However, Hendrix, who had just experienced the pain of losing his loved ones, could only lower his gaze that looked lost and empty, as if he was completely in another world.
He didn't mean to avoid this confrontation, but he was badly hurt.
With every second that passed, Serene's face grew even paler and twisted in conflict. To prevent the situation from spiraling out of control, I had no choice but to interject, "Miss Forbes, I apologize to you on Hendrix's behalf. We were previously forced to conceal our relationship. If there's anything you're unsatisfied with, we will provide you with a satisfactory answer later and will make sure we don't let you suffer any losses."
Serene was a smart person. As long as she wasn't actually in love with Hendrix, I believed she would understand that only by making peace could she be rewarded.
After all, Hendrix and Serene were merely victims of the previous generation's grievances. They shouldn't deepen the hatred.
However, Serene was obviously not as rational as we had thought her to be. "So, you and your husband fooled me, and you think you can get away with it by just saying a few nice words?"
She was essentially proud to the core to be able to stand alone without assistance from the Forbes family. This must be a tough pill to swallow.
I sighed and asked, "Miss Forbes, how should we solve this?"
Serene subconsciously scanned Hendrix up and down from the corner of her eye. I also looked over. They drew back their gazes tacitly and met each other's eyes.

Serene pursed her lips and thought for a moment before saying slowly, "I want Hendrix to sign a
collaboration agreement for the next five years. It should be stated in the agreement that within the time period, Roberts Group will only be allowed to work with the
Group."
Forbes
Serene was indeed special at handling her personal affairs professionally.
Roberts Group's future was bright, and the collaborative tie between them for five years would definitely elevate Şerene's company to a higher level. It was more practical to get an actual, tangible
compensation compared to hanging
onto a man who did not have
feelings for her.
I was stunned. When I saw that Hendrix did not respond, I immediately nodded and agreed, "As long as it's reasonable and legal, that would not be a problem."
"Also," Serene added, "the news has gotten out of hand and I've lost a lot of dignity. You two have to help me get it back."
"Woman, you'd better not push it. How can we help you get your dignity back? Do you really want him to pursue you again after leaving, just for you to dump him again?" Aaron always stood on my side.
Serene, however, remained indifferent. She raised her chin haughtily and met his gaze. "That's exactly what I meant. It can only happen if I dump him. Then, I'd have no chance of getting dumped again." Aaron sneered. "Who do you think you are? Do all of us have to please you? I..."
"Wait, Aaron." I quickly stopped their argument. After thinking for a while, I looked at Serene knowingly and said, "Miss Forbes, I know that's not what you mean."
Divorcing was not the only way to get outsiders to believe that Hendrix was the one dumped.
After she heard this, Serene's face
softened. With a faint smile, she said, "I finally see your true colors. You're not an unreasonable princess who doesn't know how the world works. You're more like a wolfin sheep's clothing. You acted really well in our previous confrontations."
