Everything happened so quickly. I acted on my instincts and applied pressure onto the staff member's wound while waiting for help.

There was pin- drop silence. The crowd had naturally split up into two groups. The men under Andrea stood upright and still with their strong auras, serving as a warning to whoever that went against them that things would not end well for them. Whereas the few staff members that were grateful to Anne had gathered at a corner. Their eyes were filled with fear and anxiety. They were afraid that they would be next. Earning money was secondary when it came to running a business. Once you've lost yourself to greed, then everything is over.

Looking at Anne, she was staring at us blankly as if everything that happened earlier had nothing to do with her at all. That made my heart twist into a knot. She might have been blinded by a momentary burst of anger, but what she didn't know was that it came at the expense of destroying her dreams.

This moment of disappointment made me very uncomfortable. I looked at Anne and lectured her like she was my own daughter, "Moanna Reid, are you going to just sit there and watch your staff, who have worked around the clock for you, get beaten up?"

She looked up at me and replied calmly, "People should be punished for their mistakes. Dad has handled it very well."

"Do you even hear what you're saying right now, Anne?" I couldn't believe my ears. He was beating someone to death. Was this considered well handled in her eyes?

This was the first time I ever looked at her with such a harsh gaze. A hint of discomfort flashed across her pupils. She then lowered her eyes and refused to confront me.

I wasn't sure if she was afraid that I would question her further, but she stayed silent. After a moment of silence, she stood up, intending to leave the club. She then stopped in front of me, "Mommy, I think it's best that you go home and take care of your children, rather than staying here, worrying about others."

She then walked towards the side door which Hendrix had used earlier without looking back.

What did she mean by that? Was she telling me this out of good intentions, or was she threatening me?

No, she wouldn't threaten me.

"No, she wouldn't" Those words kept ringing in my mind as a comfort to myself Anne wasn't someone who would disregard the importance of a person's life. How could she say something so dark like that?

Hendrix had changed, so had Anne. Why?

My brain couldn't process the sudden changes in the people that were so close to me.

In the midst of this confusion,

Jordan stood up and played the role of 'the good guy', "Can't you even handle such a tiny matter? Or did you forget that Hendrix had always been this way? Cold, cruel, and merciless. Not to mention, neither Hendrix nor Anne were at fault here. When dealing with disloyal staff, they have to receive the punishment that they deserve. There is no other way nor will there ever be

compromises."

I couldn't help but sneer. He really thought that his sordid reasoning could change the standards of judgment between good and bad in this realistic world. "You can punish those who are wrong, fire them or expel them and make sure they can never continue in their field.

However, taking a person's life is illegal. Hendrix would never use such dirty tactics to gain respect. Even if he did, they must have been the most terrible people in the world for him to go to such lengths. Don't you dare think of me as a fool and blind me with your logic! This was all part of your plan. You've purposely

set all this all up. The actual

murderer is you!"

Jordan did all this just to destroy my love and respect for Hendrix. He wanted Hendrix to betray and lose everyone in his life.

I believed that Hendrix felt just as bad for doing all these things against his own conscience. If I lost my trust in him, he'd never come out of it forever.

All I can do right now is make it up for him.
