My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) -
Chapter 364
As soon as Irvin left, Hendrix looked at me coldly. The anger on his face was obvious.
Well, this matter was my fault after all.
"Uhm that... Irvin drank too much!" I spoke, feeling guilty.
Hendrix pursed his lips and narrowed his eyes. "So?"
I was surprised. What did he mean by "So"?
Was I supposed to give him another reason?
I said after some contemplation, "I did not do anything with him. He was drunk. I saw Kelsey Parker at the restaurant. She looked pretty bad. Was it your doing?" He frowned. He spoke with anger in his voice, "Arianna, you're changing the subject!"
I...
Yeah, I was.
Looking at him, I pursed my lips and decided not to speak anymore. I stared him into the eyes with my lips tightly closed, not speaking.
Hendrix grew angrier. "You're not even going to try and explain yourself?"
I pursed my lips. "I've already explained myself, but you wouldn't listen!"
"You..." His anger rendered him speechless. He looked cute with his expression.
I paused then said, "How about this? Since you hit and punched Irvin just now, why don't you do the same to me so you can vent your anger?"
Other than that, I couldn't think of what other alternative he wanted.
He didn't know whether he wanted to laugh or cry upon hearing my suggestion. He replied coldly, "Not only that, but I feel like throttling you to death!" Giving me a lethal cold look, he turned around and walked away.
This was a main street where there was quite a crowd. I'm pretty sure that some stranger had filmed or took a photo of what went on just now and uploaded it onto the Internet. Things were probably going to get out of hand soon.
I scurried to follow him. He got into the car, still fuming. I reached out my hand to pull the passenger car door but it wouldn't budge.
His car was a little tall that I had to tiptoe in order to get a good look at him sitting in the car. "Hendrix Roberts, what are you trying to do?1 "You can walk back yourself!" Saying that, he drove off.
I was stunned for a long while that I couldn't wrap my head around what was going on.
Was he for real?
It was not difficult to hail a taxi at the city center. Nevertheless, I had waved my hands several times but all the taxis were occupied.
After a while, a black Cadillac stopped in front of me. The window rolled down, revealing a serious look on Evan's face.
"Madam Arianna, Mr. Roberts asked me to send you back!"
I pursed my lips. This seemed to be the first time he called me madam. In the past, he had always called me Miss Reid as if we were strangers.
But I was still angry and said, "Why didn't he just let me freeze to death on the streets?"
Evan replied, "The temperature in Ucrebury is at most 7 or 8 degrees. Staying for one night on the street won't freeze you to death. You'll probably just catch a cold!" Oh my gosh! What the h*ll?!
"Does that mean I won't die from the cold?" I had seen men that spoke frankly but never ones like Evan.
Evan nodded, paused, and said, "The probability of dying from a cold is not very high unless you're infected with some virus."
I...
I was at loss for words.
I decided just to keep my mouth shut. I opened the door, got in the car, and said, "Thank you for sending me back!"
He nodded with an impassive face.
As the car was about to arrive at the villa, I couldn't help but to ask, "Evan, do you have a girlfriend?"
"Madam Arianna, I don't have a girlfriend!"
I nodded and said, "Well, that's good. Your girlfriend would probably die from anger being with you."
He eyed me and continued fixating his eyes on the road, driving carefully. Faintly, he said, "I'm married!"
I...
I felt like I was looking for trouble, so I decided not to speak anymore.
I got out of the car and went straight into the villa when we arrived.
The lights in the hall were lit. I took off my shoes at the entrance and saw Hendrix sitting in the living room calmly drinking tea while reading a book.
I couldn't help but to spit out, "What a fake!"
He frowned and looked at me coldly without saying a word.
